At the end of 2020, Ms. Fang, who lives in Beijing, made an appointment with her fiancé Gao, who had been in love for one year, to take wedding photos. What she didn’t expect was that just the day before the shooting, her fiancé suddenly lost contact. In September this year, the Beijing Haidian District People's Court heard a case, and Ms. Fang's fiancé appeared in court as the defendant. The whole story of the case was revealed at the court hearing.

The defendant, Gao, was born in 1985 and has lived in Beijing. He was prosecuted by the Beijing Haidian District People's Procuratorate in accordance with the law on suspicion of fraud. The acquaintance between Gao and Ms. Fang dates back to 2019.

At the end of 2019, after divorce, Ms. Fang wanted to find a good marriage, so she found a matchmaking company. A salesperson in the company privately subcontracted her to a person named Ma, saying that Ma was a very professional marriage counselor and her fees were lower than those of the company.

Soon, Ma, known as a marriage counselor, promised Ms. Fang that he could match her with high-quality single men until she met a suitable marriage partner. However, you need to pay a matchmaking service fee of 200,000 yuan in advance. Out of her desire for marriage, Ms. Fang first paid half of the service fee, which was 100,000 yuan. Soon, marriage counselor Ma matched Ms. Fang with a man named Gao and arranged their first meeting. In Ms. Fang's view, although it was not love at first sight for Gao, Gao gave her a very sincere feeling.

After meeting for the first time, Ms. Fang had a pretty good impression of Gao. Then she followed the request and paid the other half of the matchmaking service fee of 100,000 yuan to Ma.

After dating for a period of time, Gao expressed his feelings to Ms. Fang and said that he was willing to be with her. It didn't take long for the two to establish a relationship and become boyfriend and girlfriend. By the end of 2020, the two were talking about marriage and made an appointment to take wedding photos together. But just a week before the agreed time, Gao said that he would wait until he came back from a business trip before going. He even contacted Ms. Fang one day in advance. But after that, Ms. Fang could no longer contact Gao. Then, she thought of Ma, the marriage counselor who introduced the two to each other.

Ms. Fang asked Ma for a copy of Gao’s ID card and wanted to find Gao, but Ma delayed giving it to her for a long time. Later, Ms. Fang wanted to ask Ma to meet, but she was not only rejected, but also repeatedly threatened. Ma even said that if Ms. Fang called the police, the service would be interrupted immediately.

At this point, Ms. Fang noticed the clues, because in addition to the emotional entanglement between the two, Gao also kept borrowing money from herself, totaling more than 1 million yuan. The more she thought about it, the more frightened she became, and Ms. Fang finally decided to call the police. Shortly after the police intervened, Gao took the initiative to surrender to the public security organ. It turned out that Ma helped Gao to create the image of a successful, handsome and wealthy person. Not only that, he was even a married man.

Gao first joined the company as a manager assistant, but half a year later he was packaged as a so-called single man with strong financial strength. Under Ma's arrangement, he began to go on blind dates with female clients who wanted marriage.

The so-called marriage counselor Ma will also cooperate with salesmen in some dating agencies and ask the salesmen to introduce some marriage-seeking clients to him. Then he arranged a marriage contract with Gao to interact with the victim and earn service fees and introduction fees.

When Gao starts to interact with clients, Ma will personally teach Gao the disguise skills, and Gao will also record the conversation between the two and use it as a teaching material for repeated study. In addition, Ma will also check the screenshots of chat records between Gao and customers, find out problems to guide and correct Gao, and teach him some words to communicate with customers.

According to the defendant Gao, Ma also strictly prohibited Gao from engaging in personal relationships while Gao was interacting with female members, so that it would be easier to withdraw from a relationship. In the end, Gao, who could not bear the psychological pressure, decided to surrender to the public security organ. The case is still under further trial. The court will set a date to pronounce the verdict.
