Tasmanian government announced that from Tuesday, Tasmania will mandate people to wear masks indoors.
Governor Peter Gutwein announced that the mask regulations will come into effect on December 21.
Masks must be worn in public indoor environments, including offices, restaurants, bars and clubs, public transportation and supermarkets.
At the same time, masks are also required in gyms and fitness centers, but masks are not required when performing strenuous exercise.
"We have also implemented mask orders before, which is really important, and we have also seen many Tasmanians do this."
Mr. Gutwin strongly recommends that you can start wearing masks indoors before the order takes effect and urge people to abide by the new regulations.
It should be noted that this regulation is for "non-home indoor environment", except for people aged 12 and under.
Tasmanians should consider transferring planned indoor gatherings outdoors.
Dr. Wichi said, "After the border reopens, the first three cases found in Tasmania were confirmed to be Omicron variant strains."
