In response to the outside world's speculation that Taichung Mayor Lu Xiuyan and New Taipei Mayor Hou Youyi will join forces to run for the 2024 Taiwan leadership election. Lu Xiuyan made her first statement in an exclusive interview with Zhao Shaokang, chairman of Taiwan’s “China Guangxi”, on the 28th. Although she didn’t know what the election was at the end of the year, the Kuomintang currently only had two “majors” and Hou Youyi. It is unlikely that both of them would go to elect the leaders of Taiwan, and she even said bluntly that “I have no such plans.”

Lu Xiuyan was asked by host Zhao Shaokang what he thought of "Hou Lupeng" in 2024, and Lu Xiuyan responded that "the possibility is not high." Lu Xiuyan believes that Hou Youyi is very suitable to choose a leader in Taiwan, because he has been deputy mayor for eight years and mayor for four years. "Basically, with his good 'ruling power' and the trust of Taiwanese people in him, I think it is more likely that he will run for election."
Lu Xiuyan also emphasized that as long as the Kuomintang can win the "general election", she will support anyone and will sincerely assist the election. The reason for the election is that she hopes that Taiwan will change and make progress, and hopes that Taiwan will be on the right path so that the people will not work so hard anymore, but as for the leaders of Taiwan, she has no such plan.
According to Taiwan media reports, Lu Xiuyan joined forces with the Kuomintang Taipei mayor candidate Jiang Wanan for the second time today to unbox Jiang Wanan's "Citizen Base". The media also asked whether it was possible for "Hou Lu to be a partner" in the 2024 "general election". Lu Xiuyan turned her attitude seriously and said that 2022 is related to 2024, and there is no 2022 and no 2024, so 2022 is more important than 2024.
Lu Xiuyan emphasized that Taipei must have a good mayor. Jiang Wanan is elected. Taipei City will be better and there will be hope in 2024. (Lin Jingxian/editor)
