It is reported that this "big square" called "Penghu" is my country's first semi-submersible wave energy breeding tourism platform. It is located in Zhuhai Raidia Island. Since it was put into operation in mid-2019, it has received more than 2,000 tourists so far.
Zhuhai "Penghu" is my country's first semi-submersible wave energy breeding tourism platform. It was developed and designed by the Guangzhou Institute of Energy, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It was built in June 2019 and was put into Zhuhai Raidzhou Island Aquaculture Fishery in August of that year. It has been continuously operating for more than one and a half years.
"Penghu" is 60 meters long, 28 meters wide, 16 meters high, and 12 meters working draft. It uses a steel structure and a soft net to form a breeding water body, which can provide 15,000 m³ of aquaculture water body; the platform has 20 people living space, 300 cubic warehousing space, and is equipped with a renewable energy installed capacity of 120kW, of which wave energy installed capacity is 60kW, solar energy installed capacity is 60kW, and energy storage configuration is 500kWh, and energy self-sufficiency is all from offshore renewable energy. The platform is equipped with living equipment such as seawater desalination, sewage treatment, water heaters, air conditioners, freezers, etc., and the breeding system is equipped with modern fishery production equipment such as automatic bait feeding, fish school monitoring, water quality monitoring and live fish transmission.
The stable and spacious platform and room provide good conditions for the "Penghu" to carry out maritime tourism. While carrying out fishery breeding, it actively promotes maritime leisure activities. "Penghu" has become a highlight of Guishan tourism, and Guishan Island + Penghu has become a classic tourist route in Guangdong Province.
As of now, the "Penghu" has received visits from many provinces and cities such as Beijing, Guangdong, Liaoning, Shandong, Shanghai, Fujian, Guangxi, Hainan, and Macau, and has received more than 2,000 visitors.
