Tiangeer Peak is 4562 meters above sea level, second only to a holy mountain on Bogda Peak. Tiangeer Peak is an ancient Turkic word, meaning Tianwang Peak. The top of the mountain is covered with snow all year round. It is the highest point in Changji City and the birthplace of Santun River. This mountain is located in the Tianshan Mountains at the southern end of Changji City. In this area, the Kazakhs have a high position in their minds. It is the "holy mountain" second only to Bogda Peak. Therefore, many myths and legends about it are circulating in the local area.

A long, long ago, a monster occupied this mountain. In order to control the people in this area, he drove magic to freeze all the snow water flowing down the mountain, and even in the hottest midsummer, it would not drop a drop.
The grassland is dry and the farmland is cracked. People had no choice but to select people from far and near to offer tribute to him, so that he could melt some water. At first, the tributes given to him were sheep, cattle, horses, grain, wine, etc., but later he became less satisfied with the more he picked them, and ordered people to give him food.
In order to get water, people can only endure the huge pain in their hearts and use the method of drawing lots to give them to them. But his desires grew bigger and bigger, and later he stopped getting older, but he focused on boys and girls, and the number of them was gradually increasing.
The people are facing the danger of genocide and can't bear it anymore, so they secretly discuss preparing to resist. But the monster's magic power was boundless and everyone felt it was difficult to deal with, so they decided to send someone to the Holy Mountain of Bogda to find the masters and ask for magic weapons to surrender and destroy him. A young Kazakh man who is good at riding and shooting volunteered to complete this task.
He rode his horse for seven days and seven nights, came to Bogda Mountain, and then walked around the mountain for seven days and seven nights, fighting with the wolf, insect, bear and leopard, and finally visited a god in a cave in a deep mountain. The immortal seemed to have known his origin in advance, and told him that the monster occupying the mountain had been practicing in the ice cave for a hundred years, and he was most afraid of the spell of the Eastern gods, "Tiangeer". After saying that, he gave the young man a silver ornament with Vulcan , and asked him to quietly throw the silver ornament onto the mountain after going back, and shouted three times "Tiangeer's demon subduing", and the monsters would perish. The young man is back with great gratitude. At dawn, he threw the silver jewelry onto the mountain and shouted three times in a loud voice, "Tiangeer's demon subduing" in a row. With his shouts, the peaks in front of him began to shake and burn, and a raging fire fell from the sky in the east and burned on the mountain. The monster howled in pain, turned into a wisp of smoke and disappeared, and his magic was immediately lifted.
Santun River water began to flow day and night again. The sweet river water flows into people's long-lasting hearts, watering the grasslands and farmlands on both sides of the straits, and people are excited. In order to commemorate and to avoid demons from appearing evil in the future, they named this mountain "Tiangeer Peak". Although he is not high in Tiangele Peak, his crystal blue glaciers and the ice surface with cracks all year round; the pyramid-like horn peaks, zigzag ridges, arcuate glacier moraines and noisy glacier rivers attract more and more mountaineering enthusiasts at home and abroad. Since 1997, Tiangeer Peak has become a mountain climbing training base for the Urumqi Mountain Climbing and Expedition Association.
