This newspaper (Reporter Zhu Liqin and Lu Xin) The climate of spring in the south of the Yangtze River in March is already in spring. On the bridge of Mulan, Heilongjiang, thousands of miles away, there is still a frozen scene. Jiang Chao, chairman of Jiangsu Hongyuan Technology Engineering Co., Ltd., is always paying attention to the ice flowing period of Songhua River this year. "The first anti-collision facility we designed and installed for the bridge for the bridge piers in the cold area of the Northeast is about to face the test of the first ice flowing period of ice ."

The Mulan Songhua River Bridge, which was opened to traffic in October last year, reduced the passage time between Harbin's main urban area and Mulan County from 3 hours to more than one hour. It is the 12th cross-songhua River bridge in Harbin's jurisdiction. During the ice flowing season every year, the bridges on the Songhua River face different degrees of ice impact. "Based on the special climate, we have fully considered the role of ice on the impact of bridges. We have customized and installed anti-collision facilities for the bridges, which are both necessary to prevent ship collisions and ice collisions." Jiang Chao said.

In recent years, with the rapid development of the water transportation industry, the number of large bridges built in various places across navigable rivers, port areas and straits has gradually increased. As the number of ships increases, the ship types tend to become larger, making the contradiction between bridges and passing ships increasingly prominent, and the accidents of ships hitting bridge piers continue to increase. "Ship collision is one of the main reasons for the collapse of bridges across the waterway. It is very likely that the bridge will be destroyed, the ship will be sunk and killed, causing the waterway to be blocked, the land traffic will be interrupted, and the water environment will be polluted." Because of this, it is particularly necessary to design and manufacture anti-collision facilities for bridges.

It is reported that traditional bridge collision prevention facilities mainly adopt sand-injected cofferdams, steel case boxes, rubber fenders and other measures. They have high engineering cost, poor durability and insufficient defense capabilities. They are far from the current international mainstream flexible collision prevention, bridge dual protection, maintenance-free requirements, and are difficult to meet the needs of large bridges in China. Around 2011, Hongyuan, which started with traditional fiberglass composite materials, began to cooperate with research institutes such as Tongji University to develop anti-collision facilities. After more than a year, it finally developed a high-strength base steel fiber reinforced composite bridge anti-collision facilities. This new material not only exerts the advantages of composite materials' high weather resistance, maintenance-free and flexible energy dissipation, but also combines the advantages of steel's strong plastic energy consumption and high elongation of fracture. In 2013, it won the bid for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge anti-collision facility project.

Due to factors such as bridge type, hydrology, and waterway level, the anti-collision facilities of each bridge need to be "tailor-made". Jiang Chao told reporters that in 2015, the company built and installed an anti-collision energy-saving setting with a cross-sectional height of 5 meters and a width of 3 meters for the Nanchang Bridge in Jiangxi according to the design standard of 27,000 tons of impact force. This is currently the largest single steel-covered composite collision avoidance facility in China, which has established Hongyuan's professional position in bridge collision prevention in one fell swoop. In 2015, the "Jiangsu Bridge Anti-collision System Engineering Technology Research Center" was established in Hongyuan. Last year, it also participated in the compilation of national standards for bridge anti-collision facilities products.

As of now, Hongyuan has designed and completed anti-collision facilities projects for more than 50 bridges including the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Guangdong Province Humen Second Bridge, and 104 National Highway Oujiang Super Bridge. "This year, we plan to build the largest bridge collision avoidance laboratory in Asia, with the goal of becoming an expert enterprise in the field of bridge collision avoidance." Jiang Chao revealed.
