On December 5, according to Taiwanese media reports, 52-year-old Taiwanese well-known director Niu Chengze was rumored to have sexually assaulted a female staff member during the filming of the movie "Running Horse". On December 6, Niu Chengze spoke on social platforms for the first time 24 hours after being sexually assaulted: "Since last night, I have been unable to fall asleep in the face of overwhelming pressure and have extremely poor mental state... But I will not escape. I will definitely face the responsibility I deserve and will never escape." In the statement, he said, "I will take the initiative to go to the Da'an Branch to explain the incident at 8:30 tomorrow morning."
At 8:30 am on December 7, Niu Chengze appeared at the Taipei Da'an Branch accompanied by staff to explain the case of suspected sexual assault. The process of recording confessions lasted for two hours. According to Taiwanese media reports, Niu Chengze told the police during the confession that his relationship with the victim was moving towards the direction of dating, and the other party also understood that he had the intention of pursuing, and did have intimate behavior on the night of the incident because he determined that they were boyfriend and girlfriend. As for why the other party wanted to accuse him, he didn't understand. After the transcript, Niu Chengze said: "Because I have entered the judicial investigation, I can only say that I will do my best to cooperate with the investigation, wait for the results of the investigation, and believe and look forward to it. This will be a fair trial. But in fact, outside of the judiciary, there is a public trial that is already underway. I have been sentenced to death. Niu Chengze is dead." After that, he bowed, did not accept more interviews, and left in a car.
On the morning of December 9, Niu Chengze posted another article on a social platform to respond to the sexual assault incident: "Demons are all created by their own hatred and evil. After smashing stone , please close your eyes. Feeling love will have more power to resolve and dissolve the hatred and evil thoughts in the world...LOVE."
