Chiayi County belongs to Taiwan Province, China, with Taiwan Strait to the west, bordering the Alishan Mountain Range and Yushan Main Peak to the east, Nantou County to the northeast, Tainan City to the south, Kaohsiung City to the south, Beigang Creek to the north and Yunlin County to the north, and Bazhang Creek to the south and Tainan City to the south. The Ming and Zheng period set up one prefecture and two counties in Taiwan (i.e. Chengtian Prefecture, Tianxing County, and Wannian County). Today, Chiayi County belongs to Tianxing County.
After the completion of the Taipei Presidential Palace in 1919, it was located in the Bo'ai Special District of Taipei City, Taiwan, China.
