"Agriculture and Wealth Book" Xinmu.com reporter Tang Wenhao reported in Nanning, Guangxi
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step! The achievement of any goal depends on step by step implementation, and this is especially true for the improvement of pig farm performance. During the current period of deep adjustment of the pig cycle, how can the pig farm break through itself, change and innovate and become more competitive? On April 27, Boehringer Ingelheim's 2018 "Action Party, Let's Come Together" National Roadshow Nanning Station Event was jointly organized by Boehringer Ingelheim (China) Animal Health Care (hereinafter referred to as "Boehringer") and the "Agricultural Finance Treasure Book" Xinmu.com gold medal service provider Guangxi Nanning Hengyide Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Nanning Hengyide"). This technical exchange meeting invited experts to share experiences on hot topics such as pig disease prevention and control and environmental protection that pig farmers are concerned about, and attracted more than 400 large-scale pig farm leaders to attend the meeting.

Nine misunderstandings and five strategies, blue ear disease prevention and control is made clear by
pig blue ear disease prevention and control is a world-class problem. China's pig farming industry is also deeply troubled by blue ear disease. Professor of China Agricultural University Yang Hanchun introduced that reproductive disorders, respiratory diseases and stimulating infection are the three major clinical types of pig blue ear disease. At present, the epidemic situation of blue ear disease in China is generally stable but unstable, with sporadic and local epidemics, and the harm to pig production has increased.

Professor Yang Hanchun, China Agricultural University,
Due to the complex situation of blue ear disease, Chinese pig farmers still have nine major misunderstandings when preventing and controlling blue ear disease. Liu Fang, senior experimentalist at the School of Animal Science and Technology of Guangxi University, said that 1. Ignore the important role of biosafety measures in preventing and controlling blue ear disease of pigs. 2. Just make judgments based on symptoms and lesions, and no laboratory diagnosis is performed. The current epidemic is complex, and fewer infections are caused by a single virus. Only by confirming a disease can a more accurate control plan be formulated. 3. Blindly use or even abuse attenuated vaccines, especially live vaccines for highly pathogenic blue ear disease attenuated strains. This is also an important reason why there are many recombinant strains of blue ear disease in my country.4. Just worry about immunity, and do not evaluate the immune procedures and immune effects of the blue ear disease vaccine. 5. In the pig herd, only blue ear disease factors are considered, and other factors such as circovirus, mycoplasma pneumonia, mycotoxins, etc. are not considered. 6. It is believed that the live vaccine for immunization of blue ear disease is ineffective or even harmful to the pigs. Implementation has proved that emergency immunization of live blue ear disease vaccine after an outbreak of blue ear disease in pig farms can greatly reduce pig mortality. 7. It is believed that if a highly pathogenic blue ear lesion variant is detected in an unstable pig herd, it can only be effective if it is immunized with a live vaccine for the highly pathogenic blue ear disease attenuated strain. In fact, the classic live vaccines have cross-immune protection against highly pathogenic blue ear disease; some live vaccines of attenuated strains of highly pathogenic blue ear disease are relatively strong in virility, and repeated immunization will lead to re-emergetic instability of the pig herd, which should lead to secondary parapig, streptococci disease, etc. in the pig herd. Therefore, the level of viral gene homology cannot be considered simply, but safety, immunogenicity and cross-immune protection should be considered more. 8. It is believed that a pig farm can only achieve the goal of preventing and controlling classical strains and mutant strains at the same time. 9. It is believed that after immunizing the live blue ear disease vaccine, the higher the antibody level, the better. Blue ear disease is mainly protected by cellular immunity; antibody level testing can be used to evaluate whether blue ear disease virus is active in pig herd infection.

Liu Fang, senior experimentalist at the School of Animal Science and Technology, Guangxi University,
Yang Hanchun recommended some strategies for the prevention and control of blue ear disease. He said that the first thing is to pay attention to and strengthen the pig farm biosecurity system. External biosecurity of pig farms prevents new strains from entering by cutting off the transmission pathway of PRRSV; internal biosecurity depends on reducing or removing the pollution and viral load of PRRSV in the pig farm, and blocking the circulation and spread of the virus in/between pig farms. Second, build PRRS-negative breeding pig farms and breeding boar stations. Third, commercial pig farms should rationally use live blue ear disease vaccine. Live vaccines for blue ear disease are suitable for positive and unstable pig farms and pig farms that have occurred during the epidemic. Live vaccines should not be used for positive and stable pig farms. When a pig farm is immunized, it is necessary to choose a live vaccine with better safety and suitable conditions. A pig farm only uses one live vaccine and "one immunization". In terms of sow immunity, the herd of male and antibody-positive sows are not immune (the positive rate of ELISA antibody is above 80%); negative reserve sows or introduced negative breeding pigs can be immunized once 1-3 months before breeding. Yang Hanchun emphasized that after the pig herd is stable, live vaccines should be stopped. Fourth, pay attention to secondary infections in pig herds. Fifth, promote the purification of PRRS in breeding pig farms and implement regional control and purification.
helps the development of pig farms, experts and scholars provide advice and suggestions
In recent years, environmental protection has become the key to whether pig farms can survive. At the meeting, Professor Xiu Jinsheng from Fujian Agricultural and Forestry University gave 10-word proverbs on livestock and poultry breeding for pig farm construction and environmental protection: leaking gaps, dry cleaning, water saving, deodorization, and resources. These 10-word proverbs actually talk about the environmental protection model of " leaky floor + dry manure cleaning + breeding and breeding" for resource utilization, that is, use leaky floors, do not rinse and raise pigs, reduce the amount from the source; diversion of feces and urine, dry manure cleaning; diversion of rain and sewage, separation of clear and turbidity; control of drinking water droplets, air dust removal and deodorization; combining breeding and breeding, and breeding balance. This is also a "source establishment-process control-end utilization" model.

Professor Xiu Jinsheng, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, in addition, John Kolb, technical service manager of the National Major Customers of Pig Business Technical Services of the Animal Health Department of Boehringer Greater China, and Yin Jiashan, product manager of the FLEX of the Pig Business Marketing Department of Boehringer Ingelheim, also introduced the Boehringer Circular Vaccine Yuanfulai. Yuanfulai has shown in many experiments between China and the United States that the use of Yuanfulai can significantly increase the daily weight gain of pigs and significantly reduce the deadline rate. In 2009, China's first commercial circular vaccine, Yuanfulai, was officially launched by Boehringer. After verification of the production data of thousands of pig farms and millions of pigs in China, using Yuanfulai can increase weight by 4kg on average, reduce feed conversion rate by 0.1, and reduce mortality by 4%.

Yin Jiashan also did some calculations for the pig farmers on site. Only when the pig price drops to the extreme situation below 7 yuan/kg, will the additional benefits brought by using Yuanfulai be equalized by the cost of passing the vaccine by other vaccines. It is reported that Yuanfulai has been widely praised since its launch, and the Yuanfulai and Mycoplasma vaccine Mengfulai, which have undergone technological innovation, can be administered in one shot. So far, the cumulative global sales of the Yuanfulai combination have exceeded 3 billion heads.
Boehringer Ingelheim (China) animal health technical service manager Chen Kai also explained the prevention and control of pseudor rabies, ascariasis, and scabies mite. Chen Kai emphasized that parasitic diseases harm the health of the population and cause significant losses, which requires attention. The correct antiworming products should be selected for control and purification of internal and external parasites, and population control and purification should also be considered. Boehringer is the inventor of pro-ivermectin. The internal and external parasite deworming agent - the detoxification can effectively control the main internal and external parasites of pigs, especially scabies and roundworms. Unique R&D and manufacturing technology, its effect and safety have been recognized by farmers around the world over the past 27 years.

Hangzhou Belta Chief Scientist Li Long, chief scientist of Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, also answers how to use diagnosis to solve pig farm health problems. He said that diagnosis can play a great role in the prevention and control of epidemics in pig farms, and the investment in diagnostic costs will bring high output.

Li Long, chief scientist of Hangzhou Berta Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, also held a banquet that night. The program was exciting and the guests and hosts were all happy. Yuan Xianyong, general manager of Guangxi Nanning Hengyide Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd., one of the organizers, said that the cooperation with Boehringer is mainly due to its high-quality products. The world's largest Circle Seedlings, and the market share of Blue-Ear Seedlings is also increasing, and Boehringer also has a professional and powerful service team. In the current difficult period of low pig prices and loss in pig farms, Nanning Hengyide chose first-class products and served first-class customers with a first-class service mentality. He is willing and always insisted on working together with pig farmers, moving forward hand in hand, and overcoming difficulties together!
