It is reported that consumer Ms. Jiang sued three companies: Fulian.com Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., Sharp Trading (China) Co., Ltd. and Sharp (China) Investment Co., Ltd., demanding the return of the payment, triple compensation and apology.
The cause of the incident was that Ms. Jiang bought a 2,499-yuan 45-inch smart TV in Sharp Mall. The official website promoted it as "Japanese original imported panel", but after receiving the goods, it was found that the production site was China and the manufacturer was Qunchuang Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. .
Xiao Lei (WeChat: leitech) opened the Sharp Mall website and found this product. It did have the promotional words "Japanese original panel". The parameter bar of the official website shows that the screen brand is "SDP". SDP is actually a company jointly held by Foxconn and Sharp, of which Foxconn holds most of the shares. In other words, SDP is indeed a Chinese company, and Sharp SDP panels are produced in China.
As a TV product priced at 2,499 yuan, it is actually understandable to use domestic screen panels, but borrowing Sharp's brand value and promoting it as imported panels is suspected of deceiving consumers. In addition, the website of Sharp Mall is operated by Sharp Trading (China) Co., Ltd., not Sharp (China) Investment Co., Ltd. (has nothing to do with Sharp SDP). But considering that Sharp has been acquired by Foxconn, it is probably difficult for them to clarify the relationship between them for a while.
