An ordinary girl should be so tough that she can reach the top of the world step by step, and amazed the whole world with her skillful and graceful dance?
There is such a post-90s girl from Sichuan who joined the national rhythmic gymnastics team at the age of 17 with her outstanding performance, represented the country in competitions, and won many heavyweight awards in seven years:
2009 National Games team runner-up;
2011 Asian Championships collective all-round runner-up;
2011 Asian Championships 5 goals, 3 belts and 2 laps championships;
2014 helped the Chinese team win a historical breakthrough and won the world championship;
2014 to help the Chinese team win a historical breakthrough and win the world championship;
2015 Asian Championships collectively and 5-leading champion;
...
However, behind the glamorous stage is the hard experience of learning dance at the age of 3, the pain of losing weight to almost exhaustion at the age of 12, and the unyielding step back after the first national competition ended...
This tough girl who went against the current in difficulties is our interview object today - Shu Siyao .
I started learning to dance since I was 3 years old, but at that time I learned folk dance, not artistic gymnastics. Until when I was 7 years old, a friend of my mother said that I was in good shape and suggested that I go to study rhythmic gymnastics.
But at that time I didn’t know what rhythmic gymnastics was, so I went to the art gymnastics team of the Municipal Sports School to watch them train, and I was deeply attracted by its equipment.
Its balls, ribbons, sticks, rings, ropes...especially balls and ribbons, made me feel very interesting. I never thought that dancing could even fiddle with so many gadgets!
At that time, I happened to see other children playing with these equipment so beautifully that there was only one thought left in my mind: What kind of immortal dance is this! Learn it!
But then I realized that I was still too young. . .
It turns out that when I went to watch it, I saw the best side of the performance, and I didn’t know how difficult or hard it was behind it.
I originally thought that the rhythmic gymnastics would not be so painful anymore leg-pressing . When I really learned, I realized that not only should I continue to press my legs, but I was also more ruthless.
At that time, my mother was often helping me with my legs, which pushed me to collapse every day, and completed the training every day in tears.
Now think about it, maybe this is fate. If I had seen such a hard-working side of artistic gymnastics at that time, I might have run away because of fear, so there would not have been so many stories later.
Although it was really bitter at that time, I was like a goldfish. As soon as I got the equipment and started performing, I completely forgot the pain and had a lot of fun.
At that time, I was in this way, while collapsing to the painful training of crying, I was immersed in the enjoyment of rhythmic gymnastics, and spent my enlightenment career in rhythmic gymnastics.
Later, because I practiced well in the city sports school, I was soon selected into the provincial art gymnastics team. But because the provincial team is in Chengdu and my family is in Luzhou , I tasted the taste of separation from my family for the first time at that time.
At that time, I was still very young and was the age when I was the most dependent on my parents. Every time they sent me away, I couldn't help crying. When you arrive at the provincial team, you will occasionally wipe your tears secretly.
In addition to missing my parents, I also faced another difficult thing at that time: there are more people in the provincial team, so the training has become more difficult.
What impressed me the most was doing morning exercises and weight loss , especially weight loss.
I am only 12 years old and I have to strictly control my weight. Once the standard exceeds the standard, I have to lose. Only by reducing my weight to a qualified weight can I go home with my parents on holiday.
For this goal, I didn’t eat or drink for three days, and I didn’t get any drops of water in. I practiced running more every morning, afternoon and evening.
In the end, I ran 30 laps and practiced my strength for the afternoon. At that time, I had already practiced until I was almost exhausted, and I lost to no weight that I could lose.
Because the path of rhythmic gymnastics is really difficult to walk. The three little sisters who joined the provincial team with me at that time went back to study because they didn’t want to practice, and I was the only one who was alone.
I didn’t think about giving up, but my parents always taught me that I should stick to the end of the path I chose.
So no matter how I cried, they held back and didn't take me back. I am also grateful to my parents for their severity and unshakableness, which has brought me to this point.
Perhaps it is precisely because of this difficult time that I think about it now that I have the will to not bow my head when facing any difficulties and hardships.
Although I was strong and persistent enough in the provincial team and made a lot of progress, I also suffered heavy blows.
One year was my first national competition, but unfortunately, all the last three events ended in a crushing defeat! I didn't even make the final, which made me feel like I fell into the abyss.
I thought my sports career might not improve anymore, or maybe I would stop there. Fortunately, my mother has been encouraging me all the time.
She told me that people will encounter setbacks and failures, but the most important thing is not to immerse yourself in failure and blame yourself or be depressed, but to face the problem and find the root cause, and finally do your best to overcome it.
For me at that time, my mother's encouragement was like a light in the fog, which finally guided me to stand up and walked out of that worst day.
In fact, in our team, my innate conditions are not the best, because what is needed most in the art gymnastics is the seedlings with long limbs, good flexibility, and beautiful movements.
From these aspects, many teammates are better than me, which may be one of the reasons why they will lose the game.
I am very grateful that later I met Teacher Han Jie, who had a deep impact on me. Although my innate conditions were not good, she saw another advantage of me: being able to endure hardships, not admit defeat, and having the courage to fight.
may have talent to make you go faster, but being able to persevere and not admit defeat may make you go further.
Since then, Teacher Han has devoted himself to me by example and deeds and devoted himself to me.
and I didn't disappoint her. I became more and more outstanding step by step. I grew from an inconspicuous little guy in the provincial team to a seed player, and finally successfully entered the national team.
After entering the national team, the training volume has become larger.
We need to practice basic skills on the ground, basic skills in the middle, basic skills in the marching period, and also practice running, jumping rope, waist and abdomen, physical fitness, strength training, and jumping, balance, and body rotation combined with equipment...
During the preparation training period, I and my teammates often practice from 8 am to 9 pm, and continue the next day.
At that time, no matter how hard or tired I was, my goal was to be the last one to fall, and I would be the courage to support them to persevere:
I am still working hard, so don’t give up easily! Many people know what happened next in
. With everyone's joint efforts, I myself have a team and have won many championships and runner-up honors in the Asian Championships and National Games. He also participated in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Not long ago, I also challenged the Guinness World Record, which was supported by thousands of people online at the same time.
However, many people know me because of an accident.
In 2015, I tried a horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped horse-shaped
Actually, it was not used to being so much attention at the beginning, but then I thought about it, so I felt relieved that I could let so many people learn about rhythmic gymnastics through me and make more people fall in love with this competitive sports.
I also hope to have more opportunities to do something for artistic gymnastics, because along the way, it has really had too many impacts and changes on me.
When I was a child, I was a child with three minutes of popularity. I wanted to try everything. I learned Chinese painting, electronic piano, badminton, etc., but I didn’t stick to it.
starts with rhythmic gymnastics. I have learned to persevere, learned not to give up when facing difficulties, and learned to bravely break through myself.
is a rhythmic gymnastics, which makes me a girl who is tenacious and will face and solve any difficulties optimistically and actively.
I have always believed that God will give great responsibilities to this person. He must first suffer his heart and mind, exhaust his muscles and bones, starve his body, and be empty.
All God’s gifts have been marked in secret. If God wants to give you a great luck, you will definitely experience great difficulties and setbacks.
So when you feel that life is hard and you can’t get through it, you must grit your teeth and walk over bravely and strongly. You must believe that there will be rainbows and sunshine after the difficulties are over. Life is not perfect, but it does not mean it is not beautiful.
So, even if you want to hold the sunshine and the rainbow, you must not be defeated by difficulties, but should hold your head up and move forward!
