At the opening ceremony, Changzhou's special food piled with flower cakes attracted the attention of teachers and students. These exquisitely shaped cakes were written by 67-year-old Changzhou old man Hua Huanren. Hua Huanren showed the teachers and students the making process of the piled flower cake balls, and the shapes, piled flowers, trimming... The colorful shapes were vividly presented in Hua Huanren's hands. Hua Huanren told reporters that he started making flower cakes since he was 13 years old. It has been more than 50 years since then. This craft has been passed down in his family for three generations and has been included in the second batch of intangible cultural heritage list in Changzhou. At the opening ceremony, Ye Lili, the representative inheritor of national intangible cultural heritage , brought the " Xiaorehum " performance of the " Xiaorehum " list of representative projects of the national intangible cultural heritage. Master Liang Shihai of the New Zijin Hotel demonstrated the production process of Wensi tofu , which attracted applause from teachers and students. At the Food Culture Festival, Changzhou specialty food with crab small buns are very popular. "This crab cage is fat but not greasy. The crab smells so good and the taste is very delicious." Zhu Hanxi, a freshman at Jiangsu Institute of Technology, told reporters that he not only tasted the special food, but also gained a deeper understanding of Changzhou's intangible cultural heritage food culture. "The crab-filled bun I ate originated during the Daoguang period and was first created by Wanhua Teahouse in the south of Fuqiao in Xiaoheyan. It is also an intangible cultural heritage of Changzhou!"
This food culture festival lasted two days, and nearly 30 well-known local enterprises in Changzhou exhibited and sold Changzhou specialty foods such as pear paste sugar, chicken soup fish balls , eel silk noodles, etc.
