Municipal Health Commission introduced that antigen testing is generally used in the acute infection period, that is, sample testing within 7 days of suspected population symptoms. Both positive and negative antigen tests in suspected populations should be carried out for further nucleic acid tests in . Positive results can be used for early diversion and rapid management of suspected populations, but they cannot be used as the basis for the diagnosis of new coronavirus infection. For the basic requirements and operating procedures of self-testing, please refer to ↓

- Understand the detection process . Carefully read the supporting instructions for antigen self-testing agents and the precautions related to antigen self-testing.
- reagent preparation . Check whether the antigen self-testing agent is within the shelf life, and check whether the contents of nasal swabs, sampling tubes, testing cards, etc. are missing or damaged. If the reagent expires or the reagent content is missing or damaged, the detection reagent should be replaced in time.
- Confirm the detection requirements for the ambient temperature and humidity . colloidal gold test strips are generally required to avoid abnormal test results at room temperature of 14℃-30℃. After removing the packaging, the antigen detection card is placed in a flat and clean place.
new coronavirus antigen (hereinafter referred to as antigen ) self-test is suitable for people who go to primary medical and health institutions for medical treatment, accompanied by respiratory, fever and other symptoms and have symptoms within 5 days; it is also suitable for isolation observation personnel and community residents . Among them, personnel in home isolation, close contacts and secondary close contacts, entry isolation observation, blocked control areas and control areas should conduct antigen self-tests under the organization and management of relevant management departments.
. Self-test instructions
Antigen detection is generally used in the acute infection period, is the suspected population with symptoms. Sample detection within 7 days. suspected antigen positive and negative results should be tested for further nucleic acid. Positive results can be used for early diversion and rapid management of suspected populations. but cannot be used as the basis for the diagnosis of new coronavirus infection . The antigen detection reagents selected for must be approved by the national drug supervision and administration department.

Sample collection
- Age over 14 years old can perform nasal swab sampling on your own. self-testers first blow their nose with toilet paper. Carefully remove the outer packaging of the nose swab to avoid contact with the swab head by hands. Then, slightly tilt your head, hold the swab with one hand and press the tail on one nostril into the nostril, slowly penetrate backwards 1-1.5 cm, and then rotate it on the nasal cavity for at least 4 times (dwell time is no less than 15 seconds). Then use the same swab to repeat the same operation on the other nasal cavity. As shown in the figure below.
- Aged 2-14 years old, adults should take samples. When sampling , first blow away your nose with toilet paper, then slightly tilt your head. The sampling personnel carefully unpack the outer packaging of the nasal swab, avoid contact with the swab head with their hands, gently support the head of the person being collected with one hand, hold the swab with one side of the nostril in the other hand, slowly penetrate backwards 1 cm and then rotate the nasal cavity for at least 4 cycles (dwell time is no less than 15 seconds). Then use the same swab to repeat the same operation on the other nasal cavity.
Antigen detection
- According to the reagent instructions, the nasal swab after collecting the sample is immediately placed in the sampling tube. The swab head should be rotated and mixed in the storage liquid for at least 30 seconds. At the same time, squeeze the swab head with your hands through the outer wall of the sampling tube at least 5 times to ensure that the sample is fully elutioned in the sampling tube.
- After using your hands to squeeze the liquid from the swab head through the outer wall of the sampling tube, discard the swab. After the sampling tube is covered, drop the liquid vertically into the sample hole of the test card.
- According to the reagent instructions, wait for a certain period of time to judge the results.
- Isolation and observation personnel . Whether the test results are negative or positive, all sampling swabs, sampling tubes, testing cards, etc. after use are loaded into sealed bags by the manager referring to medical waste or handling them according to procedures.
- Community residents. If the test result negative , all nasal swabs, sampling tubes, testing cards, etc. after use are put into sealed bags and then treated as general garbage; if the test result positive , it will be handed over to the medical institution for medical waste treatment when the personnel are transferred.
positive result : Both "C" and "T" show red or purple bands, and the bands at "T" can be dark or light in color, both of which are positive results.
Negative result: Red or purple bands are displayed at "C" and no bands are displayed at "T".
invalid result: no red or purple bands are displayed at "C", regardless of whether the bands are displayed at "T". The result is invalid, and the test strip needs to be re-taken.
has antigen self-test, does
still require nucleic acid testing?
nucleic acid testing is the basis for the diagnosis of new coronavirus infection. During the process of nucleic acid testing and confirmation, if the nucleic acid test is positive, regardless of whether the antigen test result is positive or negative, the corresponding measures will be taken in accordance with the new coronavirus infected person or confirmed patient of COVID-19; if the nucleic acid test is negative but the antigen test is positive, it will be deemed that the new coronavirus infected person will take centralized isolation and other measures, closely observe and conduct continuous nucleic acid testing.
