Aspire Vero notebook
At the end of last month, Acer held a global spring new product launch conference, releasing high-performance e-sports notebooks that use the latest eleventh-generation H-series Core processors, SpatialLabs naked-eye 3D technology based on visual creativity, high-performance thin and light notebooks, etc. At the same time, Acer also launched the Earthion perpetual platform and released the first sustainable concept product under the platform - the Aspire Vero notebook made of environmentally friendly materials in all aspects.
According to Chen Junsheng, Acer Chairman and CEO Chen, "The name of Earth is composed of two words: Earth and Mission. It responds to environmental challenges through innovative and integrated solutions, further fulfills its commitment to the environment through Earthon, and represents the mission of protecting the environment."
At the press conference, Chen Junsheng also expressed that he hopes that more partners will join Acer Earthion's sustainable platform in the future, accelerate green design and process development, and ultimately achieve the goal of 100% use of renewable energy.
In the PC field in the past two years, the attention of notebook products has been continuously upgraded. A series of innovative technologies including PCIE4.0, Wi-Fi6, Thunderbolt 4 interface, fast charging, OLED screen, carbon fiber material applications, etc. have accelerated the implementation of this category. Users' demand for performance, lightweight design, screen appearance, etc. has been continuously upgraded, but Acer has used Aspire Vero notebooks to expand the contribution to the environmental protection industry in addition to product experience upgrades.
Aspire Vero body and keyboard key cap are made of recycled plastic material, the A and D sides are composed of 30% PCR, the random packaging filler and box are 80%-85% recycled pulp, and the computer package is made of 100% recycled plastic. In terms of performance, it is equipped with the latest 11th generation Core processor of Intel and the Iris Xe display core. The special shaft design will lift the body while opening the machine, enhancing heat dissipation while being more in line with the ergonomic input experience.

body without spray paint. Another design feature of Aspire Vero is to reduce the use of spray paint, but this also brings some problems. First of all, the recyclable material itself has a stronger graininess than traditional metals or other materials. If it is a traditional product, even if the surface material is not polished delicately, it can be balanced through the paint surface.
This requires better processing technology and design capabilities, while taking into account the feel, thickness and structural strength. If this product is environmentally friendly, its appearance is as large and bulky as 20 years ago, and it will still not be accepted by the mainstream market. In the post-conference interview, Huang Ziting, co-operating director of Acer's global headquarters and general manager of China, also introduced the company's long-term strategy in environmental protection to Titanium Media.
"In fact, Acer has begun to promote green environmental protection actions since 2008. By 2020, there are 33 regions around the world that have been 100% green energy. From the current perspective, this is only a phased goal. Acer plans to join the 100% green energy use by 2035." Huang Ziting said.
to specific measures implemented, by 2035, at least 1/3 of Acer's products can be reused with recycled plastics, and will continue to increase the scope of application of recyclable materials, from product shells and keyboards to plastic frames and packaging inside the display. "Acer is also considering the use of universal screws so that more parts and products from different manufacturers can achieve the maximum recyclability." Huang Ziting said.
At the same time, on the software side, Acer will also try to improve the service life of the product. For example, the charging process will prompt consumers to guide users to conduct charging and discharging methods that are most efficient and can extend the service life of the battery.

SpatialLabs naked-eye 3D technology
In addition to the continuous investment in environmental protection concepts, Acer is also driving it through technological innovation on the product and experience ends. Compared with traditional 3D display devices that are unveiled, this technology can directly realize real-time rendering 3D imaging preview in many devices.
Huang Ziting believes: "In the future, more developers will enter the 3D development field and explore this application scenario with Acer. For example, the design links in architecture, urban design or other fields will be fully penetrated by new 3D technologies."
In addition, she also talked about the "chip shortage" problem that many industries around the world are currently facing. "Acer is also facing certain stock shortages. On the one hand, due to the expansion of market demand, and on the other hand, the industry's explosion of chip applications in the era of intelligence. Including automobiles, IoT and other industries have become large users of the demand for chip , which has led to a large number of production capacity tilting towards these new fields, thus causing supply and demand in traditional fields such as PCs."
