On September 19, with the launch of the 22nd Pingyao International Photography Exhibition in 2022, the "World Heritage Imaging·Royal Garden and Royal Palace Photography Cultural Experimental Project Achievement Tour" enters the Pingyao Ancient City with a history of 2,000 years, bringing the audience an artistic collision and spiritual fusion between world heritage sites.

According to curator Yang Shujuan, the "World Heritage Imaging Photography Culture Experimental Project" is the tutor of photographer Mei Sheng. In 2018 and 2019, he led two batches of 20 researchers, taking "Royal Garden" and "Royal Palace" as the creative themes, each conducting a large amount of shooting and research within 10 months, and finally completed the photography culture academic experimental project with "one book, one exhibition, one forum" as academic results.
At the academic seminar on the "World Heritage Imaging·Royal Garden and Royal Palace Photography Cultural Experiment Project Achievement Tour Exhibition" held by the reporter learned that Mei Sheng advocated that imaging research should take "establishing a concept, finding a method, and completing a system" as the academic basis and academic method, take "literature, academic, and artistic" as the judgment criteria, and use historical document materials as the basis, and use images and text as the basis, and objectively and systematically express, display and comment on the historical and cultural value of the world heritage and its current status in a way that emphasizes both images and words. Mei Sheng said that the "World Heritage Imaging·Royal Gardens and Royal Palace Photography Cultural Experimental Project Achievement Tour" is not only a photography special exhibition or several photos, but also a language way to study world heritage and a call for the protection of world cultural heritage. Through the recording and display functions of images, photographers sort out the characteristics, types and appearance of these world cultural heritages, explore the root causes of their emergence and change, reveal the cultural connotation contained therein, and allow images to provide guidance for cultural heritage.
