Many peach farmers in Pinggu told reporters that it is currently in the growth period of big peaches, and hail has had a great impact on the peach trees in the orchard. Beijing News reporter learned that after the hail storm, Liujiadian Town, one of the main production areas of Pinggu Datao and many other townships have sent people to the villages to count the losses and guide fruit farmers to strengthen post-disaster management.

Master Taonong Wang, Liujiadian Town, Pinggu District, introduced that at around 7 pm on June 12, heavy rain suddenly started, accompanied by hail. "When we farmers encounter extreme weather, aren't we most worried about the crops in the field?" Master Wang said that the hail lasted for nearly half an hour. After the rain stopped, he hurried to the field to check the situation of the big peach. "The peaches in the field were still smashed. I felt very distressed when I looked at the fallen leaves and fruits all over the ground." Master Wang said that the planting area of his big peach is not large, only 5 acres of land, ranging from early ripe peaches to late ripe peaches. Usually, he and his wife are mainly responsible for the peach garden. After the big peach was smashed, the couple's main task was to quickly clean the orchard to avoid affecting the subsequent mature big peach.
Another large-scale peach grower in Pinggu, Liujiadian Town, told reporters that since Taoyuan mainly planted open-air peaches, hail storms caused some big peaches to be damaged, and the expected loss per mu of land is about 5,000 yuan. "Many big peaches happen to be in the baggage period, and the damage is better, but some baggages have also been smashed." The grower said that he has contacted the insurance company and the specific losses are still under statistics.

It is reported that the hail weather this time is mainly concentrated in the western and northern areas of Pinggu District, and Datao in other areas is relatively less affected. A Taohong from Xiagezhuang Town, Pinggu District said that the hail weather did not affect the various Taoyuans in the town. Another big peach seller also said that the main part of the hail disaster was the open-air big peaches. According to his understanding, it had little impact on the peaches in the greenhouse.
However, Liujiadian Town is the main production area of Datao in Pinggu District. This hail caused some Datao in the town to be damaged. In the early morning of June 13, the deputy mayor in charge of agriculture and the director of the Agricultural Office of Liujiadian Town had contacted the person in charge of Anhua Agricultural Insurance as soon as possible and went to Taoyuan to check the disaster situation. At present, the town is speeding up the guidance of fruit farmers to strengthen post-disaster management and organize post-disaster production.
After the hail raid, the Rural Office, Forestry Station, etc. in Yukou Town, Pinggu District, also went deep into the village to check on the spot, convened agricultural technicians to each village to count the relevant situation, and helped fruit farmers to cut off damaged branches, drain and loosen the soil in a timely manner, increase soil breathability, and promote tree momentum recovery. At the same time, agricultural technicians also reminded fruit farmers to clean the fallen leaves and fruits in the orchard as soon as possible, and bury them in depth to prevent the breeding of diseases and insects.
