The heavy rain at night made several residents in Chaowai Yabaoli Community not sleep for a night: due to heavy rainfall and aging of pipelines, sewage in the houses of residents living in semi-basement continue to rise, sewage in toilets was lifted, and furniture was soaked. Residents hope that the relevant departments could renovate the sewage pipelines as soon as possible.
"It started raining around 2 a.m., and at 2 a.m. the sewage outlet under the toilet in the bathroom began to reverse water. We tried to suppress the toilet, but we didn't expect that the sewage gushed directly, splashing my face. In less than 5 minutes, the whole house was covered with stinky water, and it couldn't be blocked at all..." In the early morning of July 27, Mr. Wang, who lives in Yabaoli Community, had not sleepy all night. It was raining outside the house, and sewage was emitting in the house. Many household appliances, furniture and daily necessities were flooded. When the water level was highest, there were still filth mixed in. The family could only use washbasins and buckets to continuously splash water outside the house. They worked until the morning to be considered as barely cleared.

Yesterday afternoon, the reporter saw in Yabaoli Community that many residents living in semi-basement had been flooded by sewage from the bathroom. The situation in Ms. Xu's family in Unit 3, Building 13 was the most serious. The doorstep was filled with yellow-brown sewage, and there was no place to put her feet for a while. The reporter walked into her house on the bricks and smelled the whole house with a disgusting smell. Many furniture and valuables were soaked in sewage. The watermark left by the sewage on the wall reached the height of the calf, and the black mark of the sewage flooded on the floor was also left on the floor.

"Around two o'clock in the morning, we heard the sound of 'gugu' coming from the bathroom. When we went over, we saw that the sewage outlet in the bathroom was constantly emitting sewage. The amount of water was so large that the toilet was lifted up. The brown sewage flowed all over the house instantly. The household appliances were all in water, causing the power to be cut off. We could only scoop out in a dark pot." Ms. Xu said that her house was a new house that had just been renovated, and the property damage caused by the sewage was quite large. The family didn't meet all night, and the work the next day was delayed. "The beds are flooded, and it will be a problem where we sleep tonight." Ms. Zhang's house in Unit 6, Building
12 also has a semi-basement apartment. She has babies under one year old and an old mother in her 80s. The sewage caught the whole family off guard. "We bought a pump myself. It took us more than an hour to finish the pump. We threw a lot of things and the computer was damaged."
"Buildings No. 12 and No. 13, 7 units in one building, and almost half of the residents in 14 and half basements were flooded. There are similar situations in buildings 10 and 14. Our community is an old community for more than 20 years. Recovering sewage during the flood season has become the thing that everyone is most worried about." Mr. Wang said.
"Because the property rights of the community are relatively complex, we are communicating with the property owner. We hope to ask professional forces to support and help check the problems in the pipeline. There will be no such frequent sewage resurfacing situations." The staff of Chaowai Street said that the management, maintenance and pipeline problems of the house are all responsible by the property owner. The renovation of pipelines in old communities requires relevant approval processes, and further communication with the property owner is also required. The losses of residents can also be communicated with the property owner to resolve.

"We report the problems of aging sewer pipelines and flood season reversals every year. Most of the residents in the community are elderly people. When encountering such a thing, they really have no way to ask for help. This is not the first time this year. The last time it rained heavily, several of our families also refused sewage, but the situation is not so serious. I hope the relevant departments can take advantage of the rain and help us improve this problem as soon as possible. Don't let everyone be worried when it rains." Mr. Wang called.
