• Tsinghua University ranks first in Asia in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and also ranks first in mainland China and 16th in the world. Peking University follows closely, ranking 17th in the world.
• Mainland China set another record, with a total of 7 universities in mainland China entering the top 100 in the world - an increase from 6 last year and only 2 of them entered the top 100 list five years ago (2018).

Today, Times Higher Education (THE) released the results of the 2023 world university rankings. Mainland Chinese universities continued to rise steadily, and shook the dominance of the United States .
