According to Taiwan's United Daily News, the highly-watched Kinmen Bridge will be completed next month. Kinmen County Mayor Yang Zhenzhen-chan led Deputy County Mayor Li Zengcai, Director of the Industry Department Xu Hongzhi and others to inspect the Kinmen Bridge Work Area and visit the relevant staff. Yang Zhenzhen revealed that the current opening time is expected to fall in late October, and he hopes to open to traffic before the "Tau Festival" that will open on October 22.
Kinmen County Government said that the Kinmen Bridge is the first long-span special maritime highway bridge with high risk and high technology on the island. It has overcome adverse conditions such as geology, climate, walrus, etc. It will be completed and opened to traffic with the efforts of the construction team. As of late August this year, the actual project progress was 97.62%.
In response to the outside world's concerns about when the traffic will be opened, Yang Zhenzhen said that the current opening time is expected to fall in late October, hoping to work hard before the annual "Tao Festival" of Xiaojinmen .
It is reported that the Kinmen Bridge is the first cross-sea bridge in Taiwan, connecting Kinmen Island and Lieyu Township (small Kinmen), starting from Hupu Road in Lieyu Township in the west and ending at Huxia Cihu Road in the east. The entire line is 5.4 kilometers, of which the cross-sea bridge is 4.8 kilometers long. After opening to traffic, it only takes 5 minutes to drive between Kinmen Island and Liyu Island.
