Recently, many people have consulted me about the "soft knowledge" of language schools, such as teaching time and how to upgrade to class. So today I will talk to you about some things in language schools.
Let’s first look at the teaching time. Generally, the teaching hours of language schools are Monday to Friday half-day, and the time is not consistent depending on the class type. For example, some schools have advanced class meetings in the morning, junior class in the afternoon, and some schools have the opposite. Specific time examples:
▲ From the course schedule of Waseda EDU Japanese Language School, we can see that the morning course schedule is 9 am to 12:25 noon, and afternoon class is 13:10 pm to 16:35 pm.
▲The picture above is the class time of the Japanese Language School in Unitas. We can see that the teaching time of each language school is not much different.
But then again, some schools are also unnatural, such as putting some tutoring courses until the night, and for example, Osaka Yiji Academy, which has its own private school, teaches classes all day. Therefore, it is best to consider teaching time when choosing a language school.
Besides that, what we want to talk about is a relatively complex upgrade mechanism. One thing parents are very concerned about is: If the child does not keep up with the class progress, can he continue to consolidate his foundation in the lower class? Or may the child have strong learning ability, can he skip the shift across levels? Both of these situations occur in language schools.
Normally, language school is a stage of three months, which means that a large-scale mid-term final exam will be held in three months. If this exam is passed, then congratulations, you will naturally be promoted to the advanced class. On the contrary, if you fail the exam, you don’t have to worry. The school will assign you to a class with your Japanese level to continue studying based on your personal abilities, so they will not encourage them to grow.
In addition to this kind of large-scale exam, the school will hold an upgrade exam every month. If your ability exceeds the current class level, then you also have the opportunity to directly enter the advanced class. This is the situation of pulling up and jumping to the level mentioned above.
In short, the class settings of language schools are very complex and reasonable. Students will learn in different classes according to their Japanese level.
