In Xi'an, there is a limerick poem circulating: "The scenery of the immortal palm of Huayue, The evening light of Mount Li is bright, The wind and snow of Ba Liu are all over the face, the smoke of the cottage is closely connected, The morning bell of Yanta is in the south of the city, the stream of Qujiang is drinking, Xianyang has been ferrying for thousands of years, and Taibai is covered with snow in June. " This eight-line poem describes the "Eight Scenery of Guanzhong" that is famous at home and abroad, that is, " Eight Scenery of Chang'an ".
Ba willow wind and snow are the third scene in Xi'an. Baqiao , also known as the Dominic Bridge. During the Spring and Autumn Period, Duke Mu of Qin dominated the Western Rong, changed the Zishui River to the Ba River, and built a bridge, so he dominated the bridge. As early as the Qin and Han Dynasties, people planted willows on the banks of the two embankments of the Ba River. In the spring season, willow catkins fluttered in the wind, just like snowflakes flying in winter, becoming a unique scenery. Therefore, some people named this phenomenon "Ba Liu Fengxue".
Baqiao
Although the Guanzhong area in ancient times was rich and was a place for emperors, it was located in a corner of the northwest and was still relatively remote. People go east to the Central Plains, south to Jiangnan, Lingnan, north to Yanzhao, and east to Baqiao cross the river. The person who sent the guests as far as the farthest time came here and said goodbye. There are more than 20 miles from Chang'an to Baqiao. Once you part here, you will feel a little bit of information. Relatives, friends, and lovers say goodbye here, and the nostalgia, sadness, and concern are hard to express. Liu and Liu are homophonic, representing nostalgia, souvenir and keep. In order to express this emotion, when the person who sees off will break a thin willow and give it to the side who is about to embark on the journey. All concerns and sincere blessings are free and unspeakable. Those who have received the gift from Liuzhi accept the heavy feeling of separation, bear heavy responsibility, and also take away a lingering thought. There is also a poem about "Have apart every year and the wind and snow of Ba Bridge" in the local area. Therefore, this bridge was once called "Ecstasy Bridge".
Baqiao Send Farewell
When the ancients were leaving, some of them would use music to express their thoughts of farewell. "Chapter Willow Branch " in the "Gums and Knobs and Horizons" of the Yuefu of the Northern Dynasty sings: "Upload the horse without catching the whip, but instead stumbling the willow branches. Get off the horse and play the flute, worrying about killing the traveling guests." Some would also use poems to express the deep friendship between friends. Wang Wei's poem "Sending Yuan Er Envoy Anxi" wrote: "The morning rain in Weicheng is light dust, and the green willows are fresh in the guest house. I advise you to have a glass of wine, and there is no old friend when you go west to Yangguan." Later, the musician composed Yuefu, which was used as a farewell song, and sang the last sentence "West to Yangguan without old friend when you go west", so it is called "Yangguan Sandist". Liu Yuxi also has a popular saying about "wine" and "willion": " The spring breeze outside the city blows the wine flag, and pedestrians wave their sleeves to the west. There are endless trees on the roads in Chang'an, and only the weeping willows are separated by separation. " Because folding willows has become a popular custom, some willow branches in the Baqiao area are broken and some are broken. Zhang Ji wrote in "Jibei Travel Thoughts": "The willows outside the living room door are broken and all the branches are broken to the south." Shi Jianwu's "Broken Willow Branch" wrote: " Sad willows on the roadside, one after another, one after another. This year, also folded last year, and did not send them away last year. At that time, he was over 60 years old, and his concubine Liu Zhi was still a young woman. In order not to miss people's youth, he tried every means to convince Fan's relatives and let Liu Zhi return to his hometown Hangzhou to find another wishful husband.
Bai Juyi
Although Liuzhi is very different from the poet, she admires the poet's talent and respects the poet's integrity, so the two have a deep relationship.On the day of separation, the two arrived at Baqiao. Bai Juyi raised his wine glass and said, "Liuzhi, you are returning to the south now, I am hiding east now, I hope to be at peace with the situation, take care of each other!" Liu Zhi took the wine glass and said, "We will part today. From now on, we will be separated from each other, one at the end of the world, and one at the corner of the sea. I wonder if there is still a fate to meet again." Bai Juyi heard this, his heart was as if he was shattered and tears were everywhere. He could not bear to face the scene of separation of life and death, so he turned his face and waved his hand to let Liuzhi leave quickly.
Willow branches walked up the Ba River dam. After a lot of trouble, I finally broke down a willow branch, gave it to the poet, and put it on the poet's cuffs, saying four meaningful words:
The willows on the banks of the Ba River are green, and
It is difficult to meet in Chang'an.
I give you a spring branch to my husband,
I hope to comfort many lovers.
After saying that, crystal tears overflowed from my eyes. The scene of the two bid farewell to each other greatly moved the River God. The River God used his divine power to turn the tears of the willow branches into willow branches, which hang down. From then on, the willow trees on the Ba River turned into weeping willows, and the scenery in this area also seemed fresher and more charming.

Bai Juyi lives in Luoyang , lonely and melancholy. When it was late at night, he often looked in the direction of Hangzhou and was stunned for a long time. One day, Liu Yuxi, who was an official in the south, sent him a poem about Liuzhi. The poem read: "It was Qian Tang Su Xiaoxiao (a famous prostitute in the Six Dynasties, a metaphor for Liuzhi), and remembered that you were dyed with tears." After reading this letter, the poet seemed to have knocked over the five flavor bottles, and the unstoppable tears blurred the poet's eyes instantly.
In order to express deep remembrance of the willows given by the Ba Bridge, the poet changed a popular folk song at that time into a lyrics card, named it "Yang Willow Branch Ci". One of them is as follows:
"Liuyao" and "Water Tune" are sung by every family,
"White Snow" and "Plum Blossoms" are blown everywhere.

With the spread of "Willow Branch Ci", breaking willows to see off has gradually become a fashion in Guanzhong area.
