There is a group of bronze sculptures in the European Sculpture Hall on the first floor " Calais Yimin ", created by Luo Dan in 1884-1886. It shows the scene of six Calais citizens tragically exiled during the Hundred Years of War in Britain and France in the 14th century.

The overall picture is imposing and lifelike. Coupled with the influence of the empty exhibition room, it makes people feel like they are in the Buddha realm of fairy joy and Western bliss.

relief is centered on Emperor Xiaowen , forming a queue of worship Buddhas in front and behind. The picture composition is rigorous, staggered and harmonious and unified, vividly showing us 1,500 years ago, the magnificent scene of the royal nobles advocating Buddhism and marching to worship Buddha. It is a vivid reproduction of the social and religious life of the Northern Wei Dynasty, and it is also a representative work of the sinicization of Buddhist statues and a well-deserved national treasure.
