On September 27, the 2020 Beijing-Taiwan Community Development Seminar was held simultaneously in Xicheng District, Beijing and Kaohsiung , Taiwan through video links. The seminar is themed "Beijing-Taiwan Community Joins in the Fight against the Epidemic on both sides of the Taiwan Strait", and invites experts and scholars, grassroots practitioners and community residents in the fields of community governance, planning and design on both sides of the Taiwan Strait to share typical experiences and touching stories of grassroots epidemic prevention and community creation on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
This event was held through online video link. set up two main venues and two sub-venues in Xicheng, Beijing and Kaohsiung, Taiwan respectively. Beijing main venue is located at the Beijing Fang Quanyechang Cultural and Art Center, which combines ancient and modern, traditional and fashionable. The sub-venue is located at the Desheng Street Liupu Kangnan Small Street Community Service Station; the main venue of Kaohsiung is located at the Guomaoli Event Center Zuoying District, Kaohsiung City, and the sub-venue is located at the Hequnli Event Center in Zuoying District, Kaohsiung City. The four venues echo each other and communicate and interact. At the
conference, a Xicheng anti-epidemic theme charity film jointly planned, filmed and produced by the two sides of the Taiwan Strait film and television media teams were played. During the keynote speech session, experts and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Strait gave keynote speeches on the practice of Taiwan’s community creation and epidemic prevention, Taiwan’s community safety promotion and epidemic prevention, Beijing’s participatory community governance model, community autonomous organization cultivation and community epidemic prevention participation, etc.
Cross-strait community meeting hall is a highlight of this event. With the help of the community council, an important form of democratic consultation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, 10 practical experts and grassroots workers from Beijing and Taiwan answered the same questions and exchanged with each other on the topic of "cross-strait community governance under the normalization of epidemic prevention and control".
This seminar is an important part of the 2020 Beijing-Taiwan Community Exchange Series. The event also held "The bright moon sends lovesickness thousands of miles away - 2020 Beijing-Taiwan Community Mid-Autumn Festival Cultural Stage" in Beijing and Kaohsiung. People from the community in Beijing and Taiwan spend the Mid-Autumn Festival together and talk about the family affection between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. Community residents have been in contact with each other for the first time since Desheng Street, Dashilan Street, , and Zuoying District and Sanmin District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan due to the epidemic.
