Comprehensive reports from Central News Agency, United News Network and other Taiwanese media, the "Supreme Court" found that the man Lin Yingchang committed two crimes of attempting to kill a teenager and illegally creating a burst object, and both maintained the second-instance sentence, and sentenced him to 19 years and 10 months in prison, 10 years and 6 months in prison and a fine of NT$300,000.
"Supreme Court" pointed out that Lin Yingchang is tired of cancer, has trouble finding a job, has heavy life pressure, has bad relationships with his family, and feels discrimination and social injustice, and plans to retaliate against society in a noticeable way of suicide.
On July 7, 2016, Lin Yingchang took home a 1258-time interval car to Keelung . When the car was about to enter Songshan Station, Lin Yingchang detonated the explosive, causing 24 other people including 1 child and 6 teenagers to be injured (Lin Yingchang himself was also injured), and damaged the NTZ carriage, with repair costs of up to NT$1.76 million.
