From in Fuzhou City, Pingtan County to Hsinchu City, Taiwan, about 120 kilometers, it is the shortest route among the three plans. I personally think that the probability of this route being selected as the final plan is very high.There are three reasons. First, Pingtan County is a key development area in Fuzhou City, and its infrastructure is very mature; second, taking the existing bridge in Pingtan County as the starting point, the distance is greatly shortened, and the construction investment will be the most cost-effective of the three plans; third, this route avoids the seismic zone, basically no earthquakes above magnitude 5 are occurring, which is relatively safe, and the seabed rock layer is very hard, which is scientific and reasonable and engineering feasibility. Experts estimate that it only takes 200 billion yuan to complete the construction, and you can arrive in Taiwan Province in one hour.
The difficulty of building a strait tunnel bridge cannot be underestimated
Taiwan Strait covers an area of about 90,000 square kilometers. This area is located at the junction of the Pacific section. To build a bridge and tunnel on it is equivalent to engraving a letter on a gunpowder barrel. Collisions between plates lead to frequent earthquakes, and hundreds of earthquakes of all sizes and sizes will occur in a year. Due to earthquakes, the terrain of the seabed is uneven. People may think of the great project at the end of the 20th century - the Undersea Tunnel of the English Channel. This tunnel connects Britain and France, but compared with the Taiwan Strait Channel project, this project is considered a small matter. It is only 50.5 kilometers long and is all connected in the form of a tunnel. We are likely to adopt the form of bridges and tunnels, which has greater challenges from the sea surface and the difficulty multiple has skyrocketed.
