The Ground Self-Defense Force's Aquatic and Land Mobile Regiment has about 2,100 people, proficient in amphibious operations, and is planned to be deployed in Kyushu or the southwestern islands, and is specifically responsible for island capture. Abe claimed that the mainland must realize that Taiwan is only about 100 kilometers away from the so-called "Japanese territory" such as the Diaoyu Islands and Nagu Island. If the mainland takes force against Taiwan, Japan will also be seriously threatened. "What happens to Taiwan" is "What happens to Japan" and "What happens to Japan" is equivalent to the "Japan-US alliance". In fact, the United States has never promised to send troops to "defend Taiwan."
In his speech, Abe also expressed support for Taiwan's accession to Regional Trade Agreement , joining WHO , joining Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement , claiming that Taiwan has such "qualifications".
