Today is the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army, and this year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China. So why is our people's army still called the "People's Liberation Army" and not renamed to other names such as "Defense Forces"?

From the first day of its birth, the People's Liberation Army has taken the will of the Party and the people as its highest will. The Taiwan issue is China's core strategic interest. Solving the Taiwan issue and realizing the complete reunification of the motherland is the common aspiration of all Chinese people and the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation. The People's Liberation Army has no choice but to do so.
General Luo Yuan said that we advocate "one country, two systems", "peaceful reunification", explore the "two systems" Taiwan plan, and promise that "the Chinese will not fight the Chinese". These are all goodwill and sincerity that the mainland has exerted to Taiwan. If Taiwan does not accept kindness and does not eat toast and punish the wine, we have no choice, "peaceful reunification" or "unification of force"? One of the two must be chosen, the goal is "unification"; or "one country, two systems" or "one country, one system", which can be discussed, but the core is "one country". However, from the current situation, the Tsai Ing-wen administration refused to accept this kind of goodwill and would engage in political operations, turning "one country, two systems" into "ball box poison", and relying on foreign powers to invest in the United States and selling Taiwan. The situation is developing in a direction that people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait do not want to see.
Taiwan is part of Chinese territory. People who do not recognize themselves as Chinese must not live in stealing their residence! We promise that "Chinese people do not beat Chinese people" is aimed at Chinese compatriots living in Taiwan, and are by no means to foreign forces and "Taiwan independence" elements.
Other countries have no right to regard China's treasure island as its colony and protector. The United States once suffered from the colonies, and did not do anything to others what it did not want others to do. The United States once used force to unify the country, but had no power to restrain the unification of other countries. On the Taiwan issue, the central government has been tolerant for seventy years. It can be said that benevolence and righteousness are exhausted. The Taiwan issue cannot be delayed for a long time. The motherland must be unified and it will inevitably be unified. This is a historical trend.
So, why hasn’t the Chinese People’s Liberation Army changed its name to “Defense Forces” so far? It is because we still have a major mission that has not been completed yet, and this is the Taiwan issue. Once Taiwan is split from the territory of the motherland, the People's Liberation Army of China will fight at all costs and defend the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.

The term "People's Liberation Army" was first spoken by Comrade Shaoqi at the meeting of the senior cadres of the Central Military Commission on August 20, 1944.
