According to the media, at 6:5 am on the 18th, a 4.0-magnitude earthquake occurred in Kaohsiung City, with the epicenter located in Taoyuan District, Kaohsiung City; at 6:40, a small-area 3.9-magnitude earthquake occurred, with the epicenter located in the southeastern sea of Taiwan; at 6:58, two small-area quakes occurred successively, with the epicenter located in Zhuoxi Township, Hualien County... Chen Guochang said in an interview with the media that the phenomenon of continuous earthquakes in Taitung overnight was very strange. He analyzed that the strong earthquakes in the region have been very rare in the past 50 years, and it cannot be seen from the previous distribution, and there are destructive or broken belts. He admitted that this strong shock was strange and there must be structures that everyone does not know about.
