Regarding the suspected cases of new pneumonia in Penghu, Penghu County Mayor Lai Fengwei instructed the Health Bureau’s command center to be upgraded to “level 2 opening” to improve epidemic monitoring, and even during the Spring Festival, we must not relax.
Penghu County Government pointed out that Penghu Hospital reported that a woman born in 2009 had traveled to Suzhou from January 11 to 18. She developed cough symptoms yesterday and the temperature was 38.7 degrees. The hospital carried out an X-ray examination and collected the test and sent it to the Penghu Branch of the Third General Office.
In addition, the Penghu Branch of the Third General Office also reported that a 38-year-old woman had gone to Shanghai a few days ago to celebrate the New Year with her family. Her husband and child had cough and fever. The hospital has performed examinations and was admitted to the negative pressure isolation ward. She collected throat examinations and sent them to confirm whether it was the new coronavirus.
Lai Fengwei reminds the public to enter Taiwan from Wuhan or nearby areas. If they have fever and influenza-like symptoms within 14 days, they should seek medical treatment as soon as possible and actively inform them of their travel history, contact history, etc. Without a factual report, a fine of NT$10,000 to NT$150,000 was imposed in accordance with the " Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Law" for NT$3. In addition, people are asked to do a good job in epidemic prevention: wear masks, wash hands frequently, avoid contact with poultry and livestock, avoid eating raw meat and eggs, and avoiding air circulation or crowded places.
