Passport Replacement Instructions
Application Conditions:
1. Passport is used up on the visa page (generally when the blank visa page is less than 4 pages)
2. Within six months before the expiration of the validity period, you can apply for a new passport.
3. If the passport is damaged and cannot be used normally, or if the passport needs to be updated for other reasons, it must be accepted as abnormal reissue.
*Applicants must go to the embassy in person to submit the application, and the consular official will check the authenticity of the photo in person.
The information required by the applicant:
1. Fill in the complete and signed "passport/travel permit application form"

3. Holder of a New Zealand work visa/licensor: Those with a work unit shall issue an employer certificate

4. Holder of a New Zealand tourist visa/licensor: Those who hold such short-term visas generally do not accept application for postport extension or renewal.
6. Mailing and expedited applications are not accepted. The normal processing speed for passport replacement is 15 working days.
7. If the certificate must be mailed after it is completed, please bring your own paid mail bag with the address written on it.

9. Apply for passport replacement due to name change: 1) A copy of the Chinese household registration book (born in China); 2) A written statement of the applicant's application for name change.
Passport Reissue Instructions for
Passport is stolen, lost or damaged. You should report to the embassy in a timely manner and apply for a reissue as soon as possible. The applicant must submit the application in person at the embassy. Materials required:
1. Complete and signed "Passport/Travel Certificate Application Form";

What is a travel permit?
(I) Passport is lost or destroyed, and it is urgently necessary to return to China or travel or transit to a third country; or if the passport or visa cannot be renewed or reissue for some reason, you can apply for a travel permit of the People's Republic of China.

(II) If both the couple are Chinese citizens and have not obtained the right to live in New Zealand for a long time or citizenship, children born in New Zealand who are not nationals in another country can apply for a travel permit of the People's Republic of China.

Secondly, starting from September 1, 2016, the Chinese Consulate General in Auckland will fully implement online passport reservation service.Whether it is the replacement or reissue of the passport, you can make an online appointment first. After filling in the form and uploading photos online, you can give priority to the service when you reach the window on the specified date, without having to queue up with a number, saving time. Below are the detailed procedures for online reservations.
Note: For short-term business, travel and other personnel passports are lost or stolen, etc., you can do so without making an appointment.
Detailed process for online reservation
1. Please enter the reservation system URL: http://ppt.mfa.gov.cn/appo/
To avoid incompatibility, be sure to use the IE 7/8/9 browser to log in to the web page. For the first use, please click "Start Application for an Appointment".
2. Read carefully and check it before "I have read and agree to the above content", and then click "Next".
3. Select the country and region "Oceania-New Zealand" and then select the region where you live. The system will automatically select the embassy and consulate according to the consular division.
4. Click "OK" to generate an appointment number, please remember it. Select the prompt question, fill in the answers and your email address and click "Next".
5, Fill in basic information-1. For the first time a new child obtains a certificate, please select "Never held the above documents". If the passport is lost or damaged, you must fill in the accurate form, and then click "Next".
6. Fill in the basic information-2 and click "Next".
7. Click "Browse" to select the electronic photo and upload it.
Please note that the size of the photo must be between 30K-80K. If the picture is too large, you can use the "drawing" software that comes with Windows. After uploading, use the zoom in or out keys to adjust the eye position to the intersection of the yellow lines, click "Save Photo" and then go to "Next".
8. Select the type of business to handle, and then click "Next".
9. After filling in the attached form information, go to the next step.
10. Preview the information filled in. If there is any error, click "Modify" and then go to "Next".
11, photo detection. If you pass, you can directly go to the next step; if you fail, you can adjust and upload it again as required; if you still fail, you can directly select "Continue to complete the appointment". Regardless of whether it passes computer inspection, you must bring 3 paper photos of the same as the electronic photos to the Consulate General, and the staff will judge whether it meets the requirements.
12. Check the information is true and click "Enter Appointment".
13. Select the reservation time (the blue period means you can make an appointment), click and confirm in the pop-up window.
14. The appointment is completed, please record the appointment number and read the precautions on the page in detail, and then click "Next".
15. After the appointment is successful, please bring the materials we mentioned in the instructions to the consulate at the appointment time. If you cannot follow the appointment time, please cancel the appointment or re-book the appointment 48 hours before the appointment time.
