According to Taiwan's "United News Network", after announcing his return to the Kuomintang, Zhao Shaokang, chairman of Taiwan's "China Guangxi" and senior media person, announced today (8th) that he would participate in the 2024 Taiwan leadership election, saying that he hopes to promote cross-strait peace and blue-green reconciliation. Zhao Shaokang said today that he elected the chairman of the Kuomintang to save Taiwan and avoid the DPP from dominating the dominance of the one-party, (but) he must first save Taiwan to save the Kuomintang, save cross-strait peace, and save the future of the next generation. Zhao Shaokang also revealed that he will first strive to participate in the Kuomintang’s primary election, and plans to set up an election office and a campaign team after the New Year. He is currently looking for locations and talents, and his primary political view is to propose cross-strait policies. He also said that if he loses in the primary election at that time, he will "will not leave the party", but he will not consider being a deputy. Zhao Shaokang, whose ancestral home is Shexian County, Hebei Province, was born on November 16, 1950 in Keelung City, Taiwan Province. After graduating from the Department of Agricultural Machinery of Taiwan University, he went to the United States to study and obtained a master's degree in mechanical engineering.
