Among all counties and cities in Taiwan, the election situation in Taipei and Taoyuan has attracted much attention.

KMT, Taoyuan mayor candidate Zhang Shanzheng was accused of suspected plagiarism of research plans by the green camp. Zhang Shanzheng would not sit still and wait for death, so he sued Taoyuan mayor Zheng Wencan and "legislator" Zheng Yunpeng, accusing them of suspected slander. Zheng Yunpeng is a candidate for mayor of Taoyuan and is Lin Zhijian's substitute. Lin Zhijian was forced to withdraw from the election due to the plagiarism storm of paper, so Tsai Ing-wen temporarily replaced Zheng Yunpeng to run for mayor of Taoyuan.
Interestingly, there seems to be an internal strife within the DPP. The founder of the DPP Zheng Baoqing was dissatisfied with Tsai Ing-wen's own initiative and decided on party affairs without authorization, so he launched the "New Party Affairs Movement" and became another candidate for Taoyuan Mayor.

Due to factors such as the epidemic and economic recession, various parties did not set up their campaign headquarters until October. When asked about the reasons, DPP MP Lu Weiyin said without hesitation that it would cost money as soon as it opened. He added that due to the impact of the epidemic, income has dropped sharply in the past two years, and the donations accepted by the DPP will become smaller.
DPP candidate Li Junqi set up a donation account at the end of last month in order to run for the mayor of Chiayi . He believes that the donation speed is much slower than in previous years.
KMT is not much better. KMT MP Lin Yanzhu said that in previous years, a donation account could raise nearly 100 donations a month, but now it has only received 3 small donations in a month.

Faced with the election, the politicians on the island were very excited, but they could not raise funds, and collectively expressed helplessness, which was exactly the case, "A good woman can't cook without rice."
Taiwan's election situation is deserted, and the funders are unwilling to donate to various parties. In addition to the epidemic and economic recession, it is actually related to the current cross-strait tensions.
Because most people have realized that "Taiwan independence" is a dead end, and only unification is Taiwan's future way out, but neither the Kuomintang nor the Democratic Progressive Party are political parties that support unification. Donating money to them is equivalent to helping the evil. Therefore, they chose to watch the various parties in Taiwan fight each other in a cold manner and were not interested in this boring election.
