However, the source of the problem is that the graphics card defect similar to the previous EVGA case is triggered by the game, not the problem with the game itself.
The graphics card chip in question involves RTX 3090, RTX 3080Ti, RTX 3080, RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3000 laptop GPUs, and the affected players have begun the process of sending the card back to the manufacturer.
Gigabyte said it is investigating the issue and learning more from some affected customers. Those burned cards can be contacted by Gigabyte to start the refund and return process, but the company advises customers to indicate that this problem is caused by playing "New World".
EVGA told PCWorld on September 1 that New World exposed the welding defects of some of the company's graphics cards and sent replacement cards to affected players.
"New World" is a new massively multiplayer role-playing game launched by Amazon Games on September 28. So far, it has been a successful project for Amazon’s game development studio, with more than 900,000 online players now, but the game is only available for PCs.
