A friend said to me a few days ago: Fat Chong, you are not good at writing, so you should take more videos on the road! It sounds like I am good at shooting videos.
Since I made the unreliable decision to travel for a living, what I have tried the most is how to tell you the world I see more intuitively. After all, it’s only by having a useful account that I can “cheat” your money. Therefore, my little public account often suffers from convulsions, and sometimes I even have such convulsions that I don’t even recognize myself. When I see a certain article, I exclaim: It’s me who fucking did this. How LOW!
But it still needs to be sorted out. Don’t throw away the things you eat. You can only find the way that suits you best through constant exploration. Today I would like to recommend to you how to visit Angkor Wat. ---@ Fat Worm
Phnom Penh to Siem Reap 320 kilometers. I started riding a motorcycle all the way at 7 a.m. and arrived before 4 p.m. Compared with Phnom Penh, this place is more like Cambodia . It was already night when we rode from Vietnam to Phnom Penh. When we entered the city, the road conditions were extremely poor and there were potholes everywhere. There weren't even street lights on either side of the road. Every time a car passed in front of me, a lot of dust was raised. Even though I was wearing a tight helmet, I could clearly feel the earthy smell and couldn't open my eyes. After entering the city in a daze, I felt like I was back in China. The owner of a Jiangsu restaurant told me that there are at least hundreds of thousands of Chinese people in Phnom Penh. The shop signs on the entire street are all in Chinese, and even every province has a chamber of commerce here.
And Siem Reap is completely a tourist city. After all, "Angkor Wat", one of the four wonders of the East, is here. The cross-shaped bar street in the city is filled with various shops. There are everything from French restaurants and bars to Southeast Asian massage parlors. The tourists scattered in this small city have nowhere to go at night, so they all drink a bottle of ANGKOR beer here.
I have set up a street stall next to this food stall, and the fried noodles are delicious.
A friend who went to Cambodia helped me tear off a beer label.
I have the habit of collecting wine labels, but I forgot to tear it off in Siem Reap.
From the city to Angkor The cave is 6 kilometers away, so riding a bicycle is the most cost-effective way of transportation if you have good legs. Many hotels rent bicycles for US$3 a day. Angkor Wat is actually the collective name for the ancient Angkor complex. The most famous one is the Angkor Temple. There are other ancient buildings within a radius of 3 or 5 kilometers, such as the Dou Elephant Tower, Bayon Temple , Holy Sword Temple, etc.
Angkor Wat is the largest temple in the world. It means "Temple of Vishnu". More than 800 years ago, Chenla King of the Angkor Dynasty Suryavarman II hoped to build a magnificent cave temple on the ground as the capital and national temple of the Angkor Dynasty. . It is famous for its grand architecture and detailed reliefs. In 1992, UNESCO listed the Angkor monuments as a world cultural heritage. It is a national treasure of Cambodia. In short, all you need to know about is that it is awesome.
Angkor Wat is surrounded by a moat of more than 100 meters wide
More than 600 years ago, Siam (Thailand) conquered Angkor, the capital of Chenla, and Chenla moved its capital to Phnom Penh. The following year, Angkor Wat was abandoned by the Khmers, and the forest gradually covered it. The deserted Angkor. 150 years ago, French biologist Henri Mouhot accidentally discovered the magnificent ruins of an ancient temple in the virgin forest in search of tropical animals. He wrote the book "Travel Notes on the Kingdoms of Siam, Cambodia and Laos". He said, "The temples here are... It is so majestic that it is far superior to anything left to us by ancient Greece and Rome. Walking out of the dense temples of Angkor and returning to the world, it is like falling from a splendid civilization into a wilderness in an instant." This made the world look at Angkor with admiration.
The exquisite reliefs of Angkor Wat. Of course, there are also the inscriptions "Visit here" on the walls
After eight centuries of wind and rain, Angkor Wat is full of broken eaves and broken walls
Trees of hundreds of years have deeply rooted their roots in these monuments.
There are many local children selling souvenirs outside Angkor Wat. They will ask you to buy things in more than 5 languages
You can go around the entire outer city by riding a motorcycle
You can go to more temples and monuments
