According to foreign media reports, on the evening of April 15th local time, a mass shooting occurred in Indianapolis, the United States. The police said that many people were shot and the suspected shooter committed suicide.

Indianapolis Police Department spokesman Cook said the incident occurred at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis. When police arrived at the scene, the shooting was still ongoing.

According to CNN, FedEx spokesman Jim Masilak revealed that the suspect in the mass shooting was a former FedEx employee.

Masilak refused to reveal the name of the suspect. According to local police, the suspect committed suicide after shooting eight people and injuring several others on the evening of the 15th.

On the 16th local time, US President Biden ordered the flags at the White House and all US government buildings to be flown at half-mast to pay tribute to at least eight victims of the Indianapolis shooting.

Biden issued a statement on the official White House website, expressing concern about the shooting and saying, "Gun violence is an epidemic in the United States. We should not accept it and must take action."

Biden also said that too many Americans die from gun violence every day, which embarrasses the United States and tears the nation apart.

In addition, Biden also called on the Department of Justice to be vigilant in his statement to better protect Americans from gun violence, and urged Congress to listen to the calls of the American people (including the vast majority of gun owners) , enacting common-sense gun violence prevention legislation like universal background checks and bans on weapons of war and high-capacity magazine firearms.

Just two weeks ago, Biden ordered flags to be lowered to half-mast after the shooting and expressed "sadness" about the incident.
