Only minor revisions for the 2020 model include a slightly redesigned front bumper, grille, and taillights, and if you didn't place it side by side with the 2019 model, you'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference. Aside from tech upgrades like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the feature-rich, upscale interior remains largely unchanged.
To address many customer complaints, the touchscreen has also been relocated closer to the driver to make it easier to reach, although it's still a stretch for someone six feet tall. The trunk's power liftgate now opens faster, and the Lexus 's suite of safety assist features comes standard, which includes pre-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, lane keep assist and Automatic high beam. Don’t forget that the RX also offers a long-wheelbase version that offers a third row of seats. Lexus has further tweaked the steering and suspension systems for more cohesion and solidity.
Aesthetically and dynamically,
is mostly the same as the previous RX. It's hard to detect any noticeable difference without doing a front-to-back comparison of ride quality and steering, but the RX has struck the balance extremely well in the first place. If you were debating between the RX 350 and its hybrid RX 450h model, I'd stick with the gas-powered RX 350. The RX 350's powertrain feels more complete and more responsive, and there won't be any CVT buzz in your ears when accelerating.
Lexus RX models for 2020 are actually cheaper than their outgoing counterparts (though still more expensive than the 2017 MSRP). Pricing for the RX 350 starts at $56,050, while the RX 450h starts at $58,800. The F Sport package and other features push the final price to $70,000. While the minor changes for 2020 do little to alter the overall RX driving experience, they help refine the Lexus.
