Yunnan University was founded in 1922 and officially opened on April 20, 1923. It will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2023. The school is one of the earliest comprehensive universities established in the southwestern frontier of China. In 2017, Yunnan University was included in the first batch of “double first-class” universities in the country.
