Located in the small town of Leizhou Peninsula in Guangdong, Zhanjiang refreshed my foodie’s understanding of Cantonese food. The previous article wrote about 4 restaurants in Zhanjiang
Rongshuwan Food Court and Yingyi Snack Shop
Features: seafood noodles, fried dough sticks
Rating: 4 stars
This restaurant is not in the core area of Chikan old town. But the old Jingyoutiao from "The Hidden Corner" moved here and brought his popularity with him.
The environment is much better than Laojing, at least there are relatively comfortable indoor seats. However, it is so popular that it is hard to find a place during holidays.
The fried dough sticks at the door and the seafood noodles in the back kitchen have not become passable because of their fame.
There was no service, so I had to find a seat by myself. I couldn’t stand the noise, so I bought a piece of seafood noodles to take away. It was surprisingly fast, delivered in 2 minutes. A heavy box, full of small seafood, stir-fried thick soup sauce mixed with rice noodles, very enjoyable.
On the way to Yung Shue Wan Food Court, we pass by several stone-pulled noodle shops on the first floor of a residential building. Locals get up early and run downstairs to eat rice rolls for breakfast. We brought seafood noodles to eat, and ordered tofu curd , soy milk, double egg noodles, and beef soup noodles. It was a very rich breakfast.
The aunt in the store is skilled in her craftsmanship, and her noodles are even and chewy. She is very friendly and kind. Several of the neighbors upstairs also introduced us to Zhanjiang delicacies. These kindnesses make up for the shortcomings of the store environment.

Auntie’s beef offal
Rating: 4.5 stars
Features: Sauce The beef offal in rich thick soup is called this name, maybe because the shop owner's aunt used to be prone to swearing? However, when we went there, the auntie was very civilized, but she felt very personal. She asked a few people, arranged the seats, opened the deep bucket next to it, and started picking offal. The store only sells one pot of beef offal every day. If you come late, it may be sold out.
A young couple had already cooked in the store. I asked quietly if it was delicious, and the little girl nodded solemnly.
The beef offal that was just served was very large, especially suitable for men. Seeing that we were at a loss, Auntie took a pair of scissors for cutting offal and cut it all with a few strokes.
There are two bottles of sauce on the table, which are secretly made by my aunt and are not sold outside. One is red, one is green, one is spicy and one is salty. Pour it into a small plate to serve as a dipping sauce for beef offal.
The beef offal is so delicious, I still drool when I think about it. There is no unpleasant taste at all, and you can enjoy a variety of crunchy, soft, and bouncy textures.

Skinny Ghost Lao Tang Tang Shui Stall
Rating: 4.5 stars
Features: Sugar water + boiled eggs
This area belongs to the old town of Zhanjiang. The stall next door took out the TV and attracted a crowd of people to watch the program in the open air.
This sweet water stall is eaten by many locals on a daily basis. In addition to sugar water, it also makes simple secret sauce snacks.
The signature mung bean candy is worthy of being the signature, with distinct grains, very soft and waxy, slightly sweet, and very refreshing. It is said that it takes 5 hours to cook over low heat, but the price is only 4 yuan.
Papaya, snow fungus and sugar water. Such a bowl of beauty and beauty only costs 4 yuan. The price is so shocking that one’s eyes are wide open.
Guiling paste, also priced at 4 yuan, is much more delicious than the one bought in the supermarket. You scoop out the slices and bounce them in the bowl like tofu curds. The bitter taste is not very strong. It relieves heat and relieves internal heat. For the sake of it, I should have a bowl a day.
You can eat any eggs on the table. Three quail eggs are 1 yuan, and salt eggs are 1.5 yuan each. You can eat and count by yourself.

Wei Zheng Wonton Store
Rating: 4 Star
Features: Have breakfast with the locals
This wonton shop is located near the vegetable market on Baixing Road. It opens very early and serves simple wonton rice noodles.
One way to experience local customs is to have breakfast with the locals.
The little girl quickly wrapped the wontons at the stall. They were so small that each one was big enough to be swallowed in one bite. It will be cooked quickly in the water, then topped with beef brisket or other toppings, and a simple Zhanjiang breakfast is ready.
What surprised me is that the price of such wonton noodles is not cheap. Depending on the portion size and ingredients, the price may vary by a few yuan, but it still costs more than 10 yuan for a bowl. This is also the standard for a white-collar breakfast in Beijing’s core business district.

Frozen lemon tea handmade Lemon tea (Nanqiao store)
Rating: 4.5 stars
Features: Hand-made salty wet and scumbag men
There is a herbal tea shop and a cold drink shop next to the roasted oyster gang. I was attracted by the name of the lemon tea, hand-made scumbag men, hand-made scumbag women, hand-made salty wetness, etc. The shop owner explained each of them in detail Different, I finally chose a hand-made salty wet dish with tangerine peel added, which was so enjoyable.
It tastes refreshing and delicious. I am not very happy to take a sip of it as I am quitting sugar in Beijing. When I came to Guangdong, I fell in love with tangerine peel, and subsequently ate a lot of dishes made with tangerine peel. The high-speed train also passes by Xinhui, and I really want to jump off and have a look.

D.Coffee
Rating: 4.5 stars
Features: Good location, The boss is handsome, the rooftop praises
Environment: Heping Road is an old street with a very ancient charm in Zhanjiang. On both sides of the old street are traditional houses with two floors + terraces, and beautiful semi-curved windows made of bricks.
D.Coffee has a small front door. The first floor is an operating table, baking space and a few small seats. Later I discovered that the second floor area is more beautiful.
The first floor is modern and the second floor is classic. Not only is the space large and there are many seats, there is also a small terrace facing the street, which is very comfortable for viewing and taking photos.
Taste: shop coffee is very cost-effective, a cup of Australian white is 18 yuan, and a cup of ice dripping is 30 yuan. We ordered the hand-brewed Panama Gesha and the signature Exploded Lemon Coffee.
Southern coffee has innovative flavors, often using sour fruits, such as lemons, oranges, and grapefruits (which I encountered in the next few days). The boss's freshly cut lemon tastes really good, especially in the hot and humid Zhanjiang, a cup of ice coffee is a great relief from the heat. The store also sells its own roasted beans and hanging ears. The owner is cool and the coffee is delicious.

Four Dads Dustpan Cooking
Rating: 3 stars
Features: Local snacks
Origin of Dustpan Cooking Yu Anpu, a shop in Zhanjiang, still maintains the habit of manual production. This small shop has been open for 30 years. It has a very good location, right in the alley of the pedestrian street.
What exactly is a dustpan cooker? This was originally a snack made to celebrate the rice harvest, also called "eating new food". It is different from other Zhanjiang rice dumplings made from glutinous rice. Dustpan cooking is made of rice, and early rice must be used because early rice contains high water content and fine starch granules. The dustpan made of bamboo strips was used as a tool during the production, so it got its name.
Grind the rice into rice paste, add cornstarch, put it in a dustpan and steam it in a pot. After one layer is cooked, add a layer of rice paste, and add layer by layer until it is several centimeters thick. Steam, cool and cut into diamond shapes with a knife, sprinkle with sesame oil, sesame seeds and minced garlic.
A snack worth a few yuan, not amazing. The faint smell of rice is not very attractive to modern people who eat too much delicious food, just experience it. It is said that in winter, local people will cut the dustpan pan into pieces and stir-fry them with spicy sauce. This method sounds like fried rice cakes, and it feels good.

Authentic Weekly Diary
Rating: 3 stars
Features: Long business hours, from rice rolls When it comes to Laotang, there are many varieties, but not exquisite enough.
It can be regarded as a restaurant that has accompanied the residents of Chikan Old Town for many years. In the store in the old city, the environment is also high-end and classy. With super long business hours, from breakfast to late night snacks, you can eat rice rolls, sugar water, old soup, and soup rice noodles.
But I personally don’t like this type. I feel that the products are not refined enough and are not as good as those small shops that only make a few varieties and are professional.
ordered beef noodles with smooth egg, soy milk, and Tianqi stewed chicken soup. The rice rolls are far inferior to the small shops we ate in residential areas, the soy milk is nothing special, and the Tianqi stewed chicken is just average. The price is not expensive, a total of 27 yuan for three items.
As a brand that grew from a roadside stall, reviews of Zhouji from regular diners have been declining. After personal testing, I only gave it 3 stars.

After the Yongshuwan Food Court moved, here Another ramen noodle shop appeared, selling similar items to the previous ones, but because of the fire intersection in "The Hidden Corner", the dining conditions were really average.
