This is a long letter home from Naismith to his wife, Maude Evelyn Sherman, written in 1918. In the letter, Naismith recounted to his wife what he had seen and heard in a foreign country, and asked about the current situation of his family.
Naismith especially spent a lot of space mentioning his son Jack. He wrote in the letter, "I have seen too many impetuous boys here.
