Christie’s London will hold two special ‘The Collection of Roger Federer’ auctions: A live auction on June 23, and a special online auction from June 23 to July 13 and 14. The two auctions will present important personal memorabilia of tennis superstar Roger Federer during his professional tennis career, affirming and celebrating his outstanding sports experience and achievements; the proceeds from the two auctions will also benefit Roger Federer ·The Roger Federer Foundation, which raises funds for the foundation.
Federer is the greatest athlete in tennis. In January 2018, he became the first player to win 20 Grand Slams. This auction features 20 items from his four Grand Slam championships, with estimates ranging from 3,000 to 70,000 pounds, each of which is signed by Federer. From the racket he used in a legendary match against Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon in 2007, to the clay-covered sneakers he wore when he won Roland Garros in 2009 , these items mark some of the most iconic moments in tennis history. The
auction aims to attract Federer fans from all over the world to participate, and Federer has personally expressed his desire to include auctions with affordable valuations, with some auctions even being estimated as low as 100 pounds. Federer said, "More importantly, the auction funds will support the work of the Roger Federer Foundation, allowing us to continue to provide educational resources for children in Africa and Switzerland."
