TSMC Chairman Liu Deyin said in his speech that today is an important milestone and represents another big step forward for TSMC to achieve mass production of three-nanometer processes. The planned 3-nanometer factory base area is about 35 hectares, and the clean room area will exceed 160,000 square meters, which is about the size of 22 standard football fields. When 3-nanometer enters mass production, the annual production capacity is expected to exceed 60 per month. Ten thousand 2-inch wafers.

TSMC Chairman Liu Deyin said that as of last year, TSMC’s revenue had set records for ten consecutive years and will set another record this year. Nanke's revenue has also increased significantly. In 2019, the output value reached NT$4.38 billion, accounting for 37% of TSMC's revenue. This year, it is expected to exceed NT$440 billion. It also continues to recruit employees. There are now more than 15,000 TSMC colleagues in Nanke Park. In the future, when the new three-nanometer factory is completed and enters mass production, there will be a total of about 20,000 colleagues.

The five-nanometer process that TSMC mass-produced this year is the most advanced process that has once again led the world in launching after the seven-nanometer process. Fab 18 will be the main production base of 3-nanometer, and it will advance a full generation process. TSMC was the first company to invest heavily in Nanke Park in 1997 when it was first established. Including subsequent construction projects, TSMC will invest more than NT$2 trillion in Nanke.
