According to the US "Overseas Chinese News" report, Liu Jianmin, chairman of the United States Greater Los Angeles Association to Promote China's Unification, held a ceremony at the Monterey Park City Gala at 9:30 pm on the 21st local time. Died of illness at Wheeler Hospital at the age of 65. The American overseas community felt sad after hearing the news.

Liu Jianmin’s younger brother Liu Jianfeng said that Liu Jianmin passed away on the evening of the 21st. In his last moments, he was accompanied by dozens of family members and relatives. Liu Jianfeng said that on the evening of the 21st, everyone had been telling Liu Jianmin about the things that everyone participated in and had deep memories. Although Liu Jianmin could not express it, he would always react until his heartbeat stopped at 9:30 that night.
Recently, Liu Jianmin was admitted to Jiahuier Hospital due to mini-stroke. He then underwent cardiovascular surgery and was discharged home for a time after the operation. After suddenly feeling unwell, he returned to Jiahuier Hospital for treatment.
Due to the sudden incident, the family members are immersed in grief and have not yet begun to deal with funeral arrangements. Liu Jianmin was born in 1955 and immigrated to the United States in 1978.
From 2003 to 2004, Liu Jianmin served as the chairman of the Los Angeles Provincial Chinese Association. In 2004, he organized a delegation to visit mainland China in the name of the Los Angeles Provincial Chinese Association. This was the first time in the more than 100-year history of the Los Angeles Provincial Chinese Association. In 2005, Liu Jianmin founded the Greater Los Angeles Association to Promote Chinese Unification, calling on the overseas Chinese community to oppose independence and promote unification, and served as the chairman of the association.
Liu Jianmin’s memorial service will be held at the Zhonghua Funeral Home in Alhambra City on May 31, local time, and the funeral date will be June 1, local time.
