The 28th Golden Melody Awards will be held soon. This year’s Special Contribution Award will be awarded to the late musician Zhang Yusheng, Tao Jingying will serve as the introductory speaker. She was brought into the industry by Zhang Yusheng, and the two had a close friendship. After the introduction, Chang Yusheng's protégé and diva Zhang Huimei sang many of Zhang Yusheng's classic works. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Zhang Yusheng’s death. Zhang Huimei will commemorate her mentor in the form of a suite.
Zhang Yusheng (June 7, 1966 - November 12, 1997), born in Taiwan, is a singer, musician, and producer.
formed his own metal band in 1988; in the same year, he gained attention for singing "My Future Is Not a Dream". In 1989, the first album " miss you every day " was released. In October 1990, he was shortlisted for Best Male Singer in the Second Golden Melody Awards. He became popular in 1992 with the song "The Sea". In 1993, the album " The Fish Swimming All Day " was released. The album "Karaoke·Taipei·Me" was released in September 1994. In 1997, he released the album "Duplicity", which won the 9th Taiwan Golden Melody Award for Best Pop Vocal Album.
In the early morning of October 20, 1997, Zhang Yusheng had a car accident on his way back to Tamsui; on November 12, Zhang Yusheng passed away at the age of 31.
