Tiger Fight, July 22nd, the Jazz officially announced today that they will add the "1223" logo to the warm-up training uniforms and game jerseys for the remainder of this season to commemorate the late meritorious coach who coached the Jazz for 23 years. Jerry Sloan. 1,223 is the total number of wins Sloan has coached the Jazz.
This set of training uniforms and jerseys will be used for the first time in the Jazz’s first warm-up match in the rematch on July 23, local time. More details on how the Jazz will honor Sloan next season will be released later. Sloan died in May 2020 at the age of 78 from complications of Parkinson's disease and Lewy body dementia.
"Coach Sloan will forever remain in the hearts of the Utah Jazz and fans everywhere, and we feel it is most appropriate to honor him in this way," said Greg Rice, NBA Board of Governors Member and Director of the Larry H. Miller Group Le said, "His contributions to our Jazz family and community are part of our team's history, and we look forward to seeing the 1223 logo appear on players' jerseys in Orlando as an affirmation of his legacy."
