Salmon Festival

75th Anniversary Steveston Fisherman’s Wharf The Salmon Festival will be celebrated starting on June 25th, leading up to Canada Day on July 1st. The event will celebrate the event’s rich history through storytelling, demonstrations, hands-on activities and activities from local artists, traders and community groups. Visitors will have the opportunity to share their personal memories and cherished moments in Steveston. Community is at the heart of the festival's programming, which highlights themes of family, fitness and fun. Because the Salmon Festival runs throughout the week, starting from June 25th, Fisherman’s Wharf will provide everyone with salmon packages, which include a piece of fresh salmon and some side dishes. If you make a reservation in advance, you can pick up your meal on June 30th, and have a delicious backyard barbecue on Canada Day! Remember to make reservations only, there will be no on-site purchases on June 30.

One of the events at this year’s Salmon Festival is the Kite Festival – the Pacific Rim Kite Festival, taking place on June 25 and 26 from 11am to 4pm. Come out and see kites of all shapes and sizes, from simple diamond kites to 30-foot rainbow bowls, from Japanese hexagons to Indian fighter kites. In addition to hands-on activities in the kite-making studio tent, visitors can watch performances such as sport kites flying in formation to music. The festival is free and open to everyone.

More activities will be concentrated on the Canada Day long weekend on July 1st. Please pay attention to the Greater Vancouver Parent-Teacher Conference, don’t miss it~!

Broadway Greek Days is Vancouver’s largest one-day Greek festival and the finale of the month-long Greek Heritage Festival Activity. Hosted by the BC Hellenic Canadian Society, the festival aims to share the rich Greek culture spanning 2,500 years of history, including over 100 years of social and cultural contributions to the City of Vancouver.

During Midsummer Festival, you can Enjoy many activities. This includes two full days of live music, including a number of individual artists, groups and choirs. Scandinavian dancers and Vikings will be performing in the Viking Village, including songs, games and real Viking raids - look out for the Norsemen ! At the Midsummer Market, you’ll also find over 50 merchant stalls for you to shop at, filled with exciting products and crafts. The on-site Volvo Club of BC will also host cultural displays, children's activities, a troll forest, carnival games and a vintage Volvo car show, allowing families to choose their favorite activities!

This is a community-based event held at UBC from May to August On the last weekend, there will be a group of musicians, artists, and some performers bringing exciting performances, as well as some snacks and beer stalls for everyone to entertain themselves. There will also be a charity fitness class on Saturday from 1 to 2 pm, with proceeds donated to a charity.

This is an activity full of literary and artistic atmosphere. Let’s set off together while the sun is shining!
