Yuguang Chinese Literature Museum is located on the bank of Taoxi Ze, Quanzhou CityYongchun County, between Quanzhou City and Yongchun County. Focus on the "Nostalgia" cultural exchange brand project with Taiwan. The Literature Museum covers an area of about 2,170 square meters, with a construction area of more than 3,400 square meters. It is composed of a literary exhibition hall, a small theater and an intangible cultural heritage exhibition hall. Through the systematic display and promotion of Mr. Yu Guangzhong’s outstanding literary achievements, literary thoughts and artistic opinions in poetry, prose, commentary, translation, etc. through the organic combination of photos, images, text, objects, layouts, and display cabinets, in December 2016, he was The Taiwan League Central Committee awarded it the "Cross-Strait Cultural Exchange Base", and in December 2018, the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Fujian Province awarded it the "Fujian Province Exchange Base with Taiwan".
Yu Guangzhong and the Literature Museum
Yu Guangzhong’s ancestral home is Yongchun, Fujian.. He has deep feelings about his hometown and never forgets his hometown. For the construction of the literature museum, he returned to his hometown Yongchun three times to guide and participate in the exhibition layout work, provide manuscripts, materials and pictures, and I attended the opening ceremony with my wife and daughter. Yu Guangzhong once said affectionately: "There are not many museums on both sides of the Taiwan Strait named after writers, and I feel very honored."
The museum currently contains more than 400 manuscripts of Yu Guangzhong, several manuscripts of his father Yu Chaoying, and famous paintings by his uncle Yu Chengyao There are many hand-drawn maps by Yu Guangzhong, wax figures of Yu Guangzhong, and more than 500 collections of Yu Guangzhong's works. It can also be shared with the "Yu Guangzhong Digital Literature Museum" of Sun Yat-sen University in Kaohsiung, which is currently the museum with the largest collection of Yu Guangzhong's literary works.
Use symphonic poetry drama to activate "Nostalgia" to condense nostalgia and patriotic feelings
"When I was a child, nostalgia was a small stamp. I was here, my mother was over there..." Mr. Yu Guangzhong's song "Nostalgia" 》, across The Strait is recited across the Five Continents, arousing strong resonance on both sides of the Strait and at home and abroad, and haunting countless wanderers. This is a very precious spiritual wealth created by Mr. Yu Guangzhong for both sides of the Taiwan Strait and even Chinese culture.
Yongchun County has specially arranged a large-scale symphonic poetic drama "Nostalgia" based on Yu Guangzhong's poem "Nostalgia", revitalizing the classic work on the stage and performing it regularly. It consists of four chapters: "When I was a child", "When I grew up", "Later" and "Now", using poetic music, language, dance and images, and using the form and structure of poetic drama to interweave and echo, and deduce a story. This homesickness song shared by all Chinese people vividly demonstrates the Chinese nation’s strong feeling of returning to its roots and its longing for the reunion of relatives and the reunification of the country, and greatly interprets the patriotism of overseas Chinese.
Whenever Yongchun County hosts important Taiwan-related exchange activities, watching the symphonic poetic drama "Nostalgia" is indispensable. In June 2016, Yongchun County hosted the 8th Strait Forum and Cross-Strait Rural Farmland Water Conservancy Construction Exchange Conference. More than 200 farmland water conservancy experts and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Strait watched the performance of the poetic drama "Nostalgia". In June 2017, when Yongchun County hosted the 9th Strait Forum·Cross-Strait Traditional Martial Arts Competition, it organized more than 140 people from 15 Taiwanese teams to visit the Literature Museum and watch the performance of the poetic drama "Nostalgia". Through familiar local accents, hometown songs and calls from relatives, it evokes the deep sense of cultural belonging in every Taiwanese compatriot's heart.
