The 8th National Cooking Skills Competition, with the purpose of "new era, new needs, new services", aims to promote employees in the catering industry to learn new knowledge, master new skills, and create new achievements, and advocates the spirit of Chinese catering craftsmen. It is an important measure to improve the professional quality of catering employees, achieve all-round development of employees, enhance employees' professional skills, and realize the strategy of strengthening the country through talents.

This competition will last until July 2019. There will be more than 30 regional competitions in different provinces and cities across the country. It is expected that more than 8,000 outstanding players from various positions in the catering industry will compete in 16 individual competitions and 3 team competitions. There will be fierce competition in the competition to qualify for the finals to be held in September 2019. It is expected that more than 300,000 employees will go to various sub-divisions to observe the competition, affecting nearly one million chefs and restaurant managers in China. This competition will reach a record high in terms of industry positions covered, participating projects, number of participants, and number of observers.

In this national cooking skills competition, Unilever Food Planning, as the exclusive sponsor of the competition, and the China Cuisine Association jointly established a competition judging panel, jointly wrote detailed competition regulations and judging rules, and participated in the pre-competition Coaching training.
