If you are found to be positive for COVID-19, most people need to be quarantined at home, so what should you pay attention to?
1. Living alone
2. If you live with family members, the family members should commit to home quarantine together. One person per person, stay relatively independent, try not to leave the isolation room, and avoid close contact with family members.
3. Indoor cleaning
If you live with family members, stop using the central air conditioner and keep the isolation room closed at all times. Before opening the door in the isolation room, open the window for ventilation and then open the door. Open windows frequently for ventilation, at least once every 2-4 hours for 20-30 minutes each time. Do a good job in daily cleaning of the room and disinfect items contaminated by secretions or frequently touched items. Tables, chairs, door handles, etc. can be disinfected with 500 mg/L chlorine (bromine) disinfectant (5% 84 disinfectant and water 1:99 dilution) or 1% hydrogen peroxide disinfectant wipes (wear gloves when operating); thermometers , mobile phones, etc. can be wiped and disinfected with 75% medical alcohol cotton balls or cotton pads.
4. Wash your hands frequently
Use hand sanitizer or soap and running water to wash your hands correctly according to the " seven-step hand washing method ". Wash your hands before coming into contact with co-quarantine people and after touching contaminated items and shared items.
5. Wear a mask
You don’t need to wear a mask when you are alone. Please wear a mask when in contact with co-isolated people. Wash your hands in time before wearing a mask and after discarding a used mask.
6. Supplies handling
After use, tableware can be boiled or sterilized using a tableware sterilizing cabinet. Used tissues, masks and household waste are thrown into special trash cans with lids and handed over to staff for special treatment. If family members are quarantined together, daily necessities must be used separately to avoid cross-contamination.
7. Lifestyle rules
Get enough rest and don’t stay up late. When dining alone, the food should be light and varied to ensure adequate nutrition.
8. Actively monitor
and insist on taking body temperature once a day in the morning and afternoon and keeping records.
9. Health observation
Conduct self-health monitoring every day. If symptoms such as fever, dry cough, fatigue, sore throat, loss of smell (taste), diarrhea, etc. occur, take oral antiviral drugs and be sure to stay in bed.
10. Home health monitoring
The room must be equipped with personal protection and disinfection supplies such as thermometers, tissues, masks, disposable gloves, and trash cans with lids. Don't go out or leave the house. Eat a reasonable diet, disinfect tableware and public areas within the home, maintain good personal hygiene habits, and do not share daily necessities among family members.
11. Omicron infection usually lasts about 5 days and up to 7 days. The symptoms may disappear gradually, so please don’t worry. Generally, it is clinically recommended that when the temperature is above 38.5 degrees, consider using antipyretics.
In short, after infection, rest is the best treatment method. With appropriate drug treatment, I believe you will recover soon. For those who have difficulty breathing or the condition worsens, it is recommended to go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.
