Before I renovated, I read a lot of miscellaneous guides. After "calculating" many decorations in my mind several times, I felt complacent, but I didn't expect that after the decoration was over...
There were many decorations in the house. I can't say that they were exactly what I expected. I can only say that they had no connection.. After the decoration was completed and I moved in, I realized that it was not the case at all! Today I will share these places with you. I hope that I, a trap-taker, can help you avoid pitfalls and clear mines~
1. Reserve a place for the sweeping machine under the cabinet
Before the renovation, I had planned to buy a sweeping robot. For the so-called "high-end feeling", I specially made a charging compartment under the entrance cabinet and reserved such a small grid for the sweeping robot. However, after buying the sweeping robot, I found that it could not be used at all.
Because the sweeping robot I bought at that time came with a water tank. If I wanted to mop the floor and flush it automatically, I had to install water. Not to mention how troublesome it was. God knows how helpless I felt after I bought the sweeping robot and looked at the cabinet reserved in the entrance.
2. The gap of the zero-embedded refrigerator is too large.
Zero-embedded refrigerators have become very popular in recent years. It can be roughly understood that after being embedded in the cabinet , it is basically flush with the cabinet surface and will not look too obtrusive. However, this kind of refrigerator has very high requirements during installation. Among them, the easiest pitfall is the gap reserved on both sides.
If you are like me, the gaps reserved on both sides are too large, and the effect after installation will not be very good. Instead, it will look weird. The most important thing is that it is difficult to clean up the accumulated dust. It is really a big hole. If my home can be renovated, I will definitely not be so self-righteous anymore.
3. The bathroom cabinet did not reserve the drawer size in advance.
The bathroom cabinet is made of tight fitting, suspended, and dark colors, which I vowed to decide before the decoration. I was quite happy when I first installed it. I felt that I finally didn’t step into a trap. But after I moved in and used it, I found that it was basically a deep hole.
First of all, because the opening position of the drawer door was not reserved, the drawer was stuck by the door frame and could only be opened half way. Now it is basically just for use, and I can't bear to dismantle it, but it looks awkward and is so helpless.
The dark bathroom countertop is good everywhere, but it is not resistant to dirt, especially scale and foam from toiletries. Splashes on it will cause water stains. No matter how you look at it, I feel uncomfortable. If I were asked to redecorate again, I would just choose a ceramic integrated basin.
4. The bathroom is made of white marble troughs
The bathroom pictures are beautiful, and the white marble troughs are one of my biggest regrets in the bathroom decoration. It is true that it does look a bit high-end and refined, but it is not so practical for daily life.
After moving in, I found that every one of these slots is a problem to clean. The scale and stains after bathing will be firmly stuck in the gaps. If you want to clean them, you have to pick the gaps one by one with a toothpick, or scrub them thoroughly with a brush. It is really troublesome, and I do not recommend that everyone follow suit.
5. Do not reserve lighting strips but use rechargeable light strips
Before decorating the interior of the cabinet, one was to save trouble and the other was to save money. I did not reserve the circuits and sockets for the light strips in advance. I thought that I would just use rechargeable induction lights later. It was not until I used it for half a year that I realized that I was really in trouble. Although rechargeable light strips like
save you the trouble of installation, it does come with the annoyance of frequent charging. You have to recharge it soon, and you have to think about it all the time. It is not as convenient as reserving a circuit in advance!
6. Inadequate reservation of the size of the washing machine
Before the decoration, I made the laundry cabinet according to the size of the washing machine. I thought it would be OK, but when I bought the washing machine and wanted to put it in the cabinet, I was dumbfounded. This was all because the sewer pipes were not thought out in advance.
Because there is space for the sewer pipe in the back, the depth of the cabinet is not enough. After putting the washing machine, a piece of it protrudes. You have to say that it is not worth redoing the cabinet. If you say it is carried like this, it always feels imperfect. Alas, it is a trap!
All in all, this decoration made by me is really regrettable. If you are also decorating your home, or planning to decorate, I suggest you not to follow my old path. After all, it can affect your mood, isn't it?
