Money Tree , also known as Citroenol , gold coin tree, is a perennial evergreen herb of the Asteraceae family . Its leaves are very distinctive in shape, like copper coins hanging on the branches, with the meaning of wealth and prosperity, and are deeply loved by flower lovers. Money trees are full of vitality and are very simple to reproduce. Today I will introduce two cutting methods to make 1 pot of money trees at home turn into 10 pots!
Money tree has strong reproductive ability. Even if it only has one leaf, it can grow roots only in an appropriate environment. Just like cutting succulent plant , we can use the leaves of the money tree to breed new seedlings.
First we cut off the leaves of the money tree, and when cutting, we must cut them together. Then prepare some peat soil and perlite , mix evenly in a ratio of 2:1, and prepare it into the soil for cuttings. Be careful not to put fertilizer in the soil, as fertilizer will seriously hinder the rooting of the leaves.
Prepare several small flower pots, the diameter of the flower pot is about 8 cm. Put the soil for cuttings into a flowerpot until 8 minutes full, and then water it to make the soil moist enough. Then insert the cut leaves into the soil obliquely, and the depth of the inserted soil is about 1/2 to 1/3 of the leaves.
Put the small flower pot with the leaves in the ventilated scattered light, avoid direct light, and keep the temperature at 20~25 degrees. You need to spray water on the leaves 2~3 times a day with a watering can. Keep the soil in a slightly moist state. If you see the soil surface of the flower pot dry, spray water in time.
About 1 week, white root will grow from the bottom of the leaves. After about 30 days, the root system of the leaves has been relatively developed. You can apply a little thin fertilizer appropriately and slowly increase the light for it, gradually move to the position with good lighting, and then maintain it normally.
After the money tree is raised, many branches will grow. Some branches will grow messy, so we can prune them and reproduce them into new seedlings.
First we need to prepare a flower pot and some cutting soil. The soil ratio is the same as the leaf cutting method above. In a ratio of 2:1, mix peat soil and perlite. No fertilizer can be added to the soil. Then prepare a pair of scissors and bake it on the fire in advance to disinfect the scissors. Then cut the stem of the money tree from the bottom and try to keep the cut as flat as possible when cutting.
Use scissors to cut the long stem of the money tree into a length of 12~15 cm. Some leaves at the bottom of each branch should be removed, and the leaves cannot be buried in the soil. After pruning, place the branches in a cool and ventilated place for 6 to 8 hours to dry the wound.
Prepare several flower pots, put the cutting soil into the flower pot until 8 minutes full, and water some water to make the soil moist. Then insert the dried branches into the soil.
After about 1 month, the bottom of the branches will take root in the soil. At this time, you can let the branches see some soft light to help grow, and then apply a little fertilization.
